Right, that is (absolutely) it, girl! I'm coming over and not leaving until you have been educated in the fun side of (Movie/TV show) life!
Put on the coffee and make snacks yar? This could take some time. :biggrin2:
What Flakes said. Moulin Rouge is a total rush.

The gals in this vid were not in the film, but dang, they pulled off one of the greatest covers of a song ever for the soundtrack.

We were watching Deja Vu. 2006. Seemed like a stellar cast. Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer, and others. It had a horrific terrorism event, which made me think that it was too soon after 9/11 for something like that to capture the interest of the American public.

I gave up when the satellite or whatever images, with thermal enhancement, could replay what the girl was doing inside her apartment, in glorious detail, right to displays on her phone. Gimme a break.

Get Shorty (1995) - Gene Hackman, John Travolta, Delroy Lindo, Danny DeVito, James Gandolfini & many more

There have been many movies made from Elmore Leonard novels and most of them miss the mark because nobody can seem to get those great characters from the page to the screen. That is not the case with Get Shorty. This is a great adaptation and all the actors are fantastic, especially Gene Hackman and John Travolta. I think this may be John Travolta's best role. The movie has tons of twists and turns and is wickedly funny. Highly recommended. This movie and Jackie Brown are the best Elmore adaptations that I've seen (and 3:10 to Yuma but that's from a short story).

Enthusiastic endorsement from me on Get Shorty. Unless you don't like f-bombs. There are a few million of them. But great cast, great acting, great story.

Can't endorse 3:10 to Yuma. It was well-made and well-acted but too brutal and nihilistic for my tastes. Other tastes, obviously, will vary.

The Maze Runner.

Pros: Some good acting/characters and an interesting premise (at first)

Cons: A few bits of bad dialogue (very cliche) and a terrible ending.
A couple of my kids saw this at the flicks yesterday and said pretty much the same thing. They were not impressed with the ending at all. (having read the book)

Never read the book myself. For the most part all this "teenage dystopia fiction" stuff does not interest me. I don't want to see angsty teenagers moping about, I see enough of that at school.

Watched Thanks For Sharing with Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins on Netflix. It was about people in a support group for sex addiction. It was okay. What I found the most interesting is people in recovery for this are encouraged to eventually have healthy sexual relationships. This must be difficult-I kept thinking about an alcoholic attempting to drink in moderation.

Family movie night - wife's pick - A Bullet To The Head. Not great. Not terrible. Rather generic. But it seals my belief that Stallone should stay behind the camera from now on.

The main positive from this one was Jason Mamoa. He was very impressive - acting and action wise.

Previous week we watched Misery. First time my son has seen the movie. It still holds up and Kathy Bates is riveting. Son really liked it.

I want to see this! I read the books, and they're ok--just light and fun reads. Honestly, the real reason I want to see this is because I like Dylan O'Brien ;-D I heard the ending was terrible, as well. I think it's because it sets up for the second (book) movie, The Scorch Trials?
