I liked that one, too. Wood is scary, but sort of sympathetic, too. That usually ruins horror movies for me (feeling sorry for someone usually rules out being really scared of them), but the director's touch was not heavy handed, and it helped to maintain the menace of the character.A friend of mine loaned me the DVD of this remake of "Maniac" with Elijah Wood in it. It's not for the squeamish, pretty brutal violence against women so if your in any way the kind of person who gets "Offended" by movies you should steer clear of it. But as for the movie itself, it's very well made. They did the whole film shot through the eyes of the killer, so when he's killing somebody your seeing it from the first person perspective, the only times you really even see Elijah Wood is when you catch his reflection in the mirror or in a picture frame outside of a couple scenes, his performance is primarily voice over work.
Many horror flicks will claim to be "Disturbing" or "Shocking" but most are just rehashed and overplayed genre staples. The method they shot this in makes it unique, so if your a fan of Slasher flicks or Psychological horror this will probably be something you should check out, as it stands out from the pack. One of the only remakes I think is way better then the original.
I* liked the movie, too. Have you read the book? Totally different, but even better.World War Z. It was a re-watch. Still can't get over the fact that noone was keeping an eye on the gates out side of Jerusalem. Really? Got the bluray at Target for $10.
Yes, I read the book a year ago or so at least. It was before they even announced the movie being made. I wasn't that impressed with it as alot of other folks are. I wasn't expecting what it turned out to be, I thought it was going to be a full-fledged novel, not just short glimpses into what happened to so many people. Interesting concept tho. I imagine there will be a sequel, which needn't star Brad Pitt. There's so many other stories that can be told from the book.I* liked the movie, too. Have you read the book? Totally different, but even better.
World War Z. Got the bluray at Target for $10.
Used?Ha, I win. I got the blu ray at Kroger for $6.99.
D*mn! I coulda got my employee discount!Nope. Brand new. And it even had the slipcover.
Finished The Lone Ranger--silly, and not nearly as bad as I expected.
Agreed. Depp's role was an eyebrow raiser, too--he probably thought that being a little Cherokee made his over the top stereotype okay, but it didn't.The massacre kinda ruined it for us.
