I think it's still available to stream on Netflix. I need to re-watch it before it's gone-especially since I'm on a Greg Kinnear roll!Yes I've seen it, and yes the cameo is genuine!

"For that time", my eye. Movies and TV are STILL full of this BS (older men with much younger women), because men still run the studios.Back in the day though, audiences, at least American ones, were used to accepting a myth concerning romantic relationships; that men (the movie ticket buyers) got to realize their fantasies in American society. Any leading man was therefore portrayed as mature (while not old), while the romantic interest was never a realistic societal peer. So, the suspension of disbelief was, for that time, maintained.
My daughter loved that one, though I haven't seen it yet. Maybe tonightI think it's still available to stream on Netflix. I need to re-watch it before it's gone-especially since I'm on a Greg Kinnear roll!
True. I want to see a movie with a 50 year old woman having a relationship with a 25 year old man. Is it gonna happen? Doubtful, because as you said, the studios are all run by men."For that time", my eye. Movies and TV are STILL full of this BS (older men with much younger women), because men still run the studios.
Looks like the Ashton Kutcher/Demi Moore thing did not work out for them (unfortunately) - I guess it was not a "meeting of the minds"True. The discrepancy in age. When I first saw the movie, I didn't believe she could fall for him. Also, the characters are not equal socially."Way too good" in what way for Jimmy Stewart, or his character in the movie, or what do you mean?

Don't forget Harold And Maude. That's a classic!Sure. We can see Indiana Jones and Henry Jones "share" the same lady and laugh about it, and she's clearly much younger than either. The relationship is part of the story, but the age difference is a throwaway reference.
You get an older woman and a younger guy, and the age difference, on its own, becomes a drama point for the flick. Case in point: The Graduate. And it's not like those movies are crowding the top of the classics, like To Have And Have Not.
Harold and Maude is one of my favorite cult films. Haven't seen it in ages.Don't forget Harold And Maude. That's a classic!
