Grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with tomato soup - Yummy:biggrin-new:. Even better, a bowl of GUMBO - YAAAY! Bread just out of the oven with butter, hot chocolate with a dollop of whipped cream, almost anything my mom cooks, a cup of coffee with a fresh cinnamon bun... :love-struck:

Chocolate is the food of the gods, and then you add peanut butter. I feel your pain DJ.

I'm not really a sweets guy, my (food) Achilles' heel is cheese and carbs. Mac n' cheese is probably my ultimate comfort food, put some breadcrumbs on that baby and bake it 'til it gets a golden, buttery crust. I also have a weakness for pizza, spaghetti, mash potatoes and gravy, and a nice chunk of soft bread, preferrably a loaf of Italian, and smear that sucker with butter.

I thought peanut butter was the food of the gods, and then you add chocolate.....

In the end Sunny, does it really matter?
Back in the old days I was never overly keen on chocolate, but in the last couple of years, My God!

I just had some delicious freshly made home made mashed potatoes (peeled red potatoes) with butter and salt.

This is such a comfort food for me. I remember just recently buying a 10 lb bag of potatoes. The woman in front of me had a few boxes of those dehydrated things xD blech! (her family does not know what they are missing!)

I will admit it did cross my mind to get a couple of boxes, as they were on sale, but I am glad I went with the real thing :adoration:

    Ice cream.

Or a really nice cheese, an Irish cheddar or Havarti or some such thing.

    Or tortilla chips and salsa.

Or a tasty alcohol drink (rum in some tea, say, or a fine single malt).

I dine upon many holiday spices (Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Mace, Ginger, Cloves) and I do mean...a lot!
Cinnamon, with much ginger and Cheerios, is best added to Splenda/Apriva and mixed, with a tiny bit of milk, to a slurry before more milk is added.
Cloves, mace & nutmeg also work in the slurry and all go well with low-fat Greek yogurt.
Who'd a thunk it, spices are a spice of life?
BTW the finest way to peel ginger root is with a teaspoon.

Oh yeah, a heapin' teaspoon or two of ground or grated ginger on ice cubes with ginger ale poured over, now dats ginger ale.
