Well, having read pretty much all of his writing, I knew what he meant. I am pretty sure he has used this term in that regard in some of his writing. Can't remember where, but with this crowd and the amazing Mod afoot, I am sure someone can tell us where this happened.

Sounds like a word/phrase that Annie Wilkes or Dolores Claiborne would use, but I don't recall it being used in any particular story or book. Not ringing any bells, anyway.

It's not just a translation from English to another language, it's apparently a regional use of the word that led to misunderstanding what he meant.
