When did we get to the point where they look at you kinda funny when you order just a plain, high-test coffee, no sugar, no foofiness? (I’ll add my own cream, thank you very much.) I am finding that I need to go to a convenience store just to get a cup of coffee anymore, and even then it’s a hunt and search proposition because of the dozen offerings, none of which is “Regular.”. My kingdom for the days when our only choices were “Regular” and “Decaf.”
I know what you mean. For a long while I wouldn't go to Starbucks because I had barrista anxiety and was afraid I would embarrass myself because I didn't know all the ordering jargon. I'd even thought about finding an ordering tutorial on line but then said to heck with it, I'm not going to be intimidated by something as inconsequential as buying a cup of coffee. Now when I go I just say I want a plain coffee, nothing fancy, and let them sort it out. :biggrin2:

No. The machine had some odd name. If I heard it again, I would remember. All I know is it takes about 15 minutes of constant attention to make a damn single cup of coffee.
Is this it?
A French press, also known as a cafetière, сafetière à piston, Cafeteria, press pot, coffee press, or coffee plunger, is a simple coffee brewing device patented by Italian designer Attilio Calimani in 1929.[1]

LOL. My youngest loves Starbucks. It’s the only reason I can get her to the orthodontist, because there’s a Starbucks nearby. I went in once with her, and only once. It took her about 30 seconds to order her concoction and 15 minutes for them to make it. Now I just stay in the car and log into the SKMB in order to avoid the frustration. I just hand her a $20, and ask if it’s enough for a cup of coffee and a Danish, and say “See you in 20 minutes.”

Dang! I just pop a k-cup in the Keurig, and in about 30 seconds, I have a nice cup of coffee.....regular, or any other flavor that I wish. I'm not big on the seasonal flavors, like blueberry or pumpkin spice....but I do like Vanilla Caramel, and Amaretto.....

YES!!! That's it... A French press. Leave it to the French (or Italians) to make coffee a pain-in-the-ass hassle. :)

I guess I'll go to Dunks, but I love me some Wawa.........

I always thought Wawa was just a Philly-area thing...are we neighbors? :D

Back on topic, I feel like an oddity: I'm a 40 yr old mom (a special needs mom, at that!) who doesn't like coffee at all. People look at me like I have 3 heads when they find out. Then we bond over wine instead ;)
