I can read more than one book at a time and normally do. However, right now I'm reading The Stand for the first time and I'm having a problem keeping all of the characters straight so I've put the other books on hold.

I can't do audiobooks. I've tried numerous times and my mind wonders too much.

I've recently fell back in love with my SK books and got them out of storage. I put them all out this weekend on my bedroom bookshelf. Its a lovely, lovely sight ;) However, I've realized I don't have many 'real' books besides SK.
The Stand needs full concentration. Great to have fallen back in love with your SK books.

I cannot read more then one book at a time. Unless you count the Dean Koontz book that I read a third of and then set aside when Finders Keepers hit the streets. I tried numerous audio books, but can't stay focused if I'm driving. I did listen to them once when I was painting the interior of a condo and enjoyed doing that.
I have wanted to read more than one story at a time. I guess if I was taking a class in school and had a book as an assignment at the same time I was reading something else, I'd just try to finish the one before starting the other.

I also forgot to add that I can't stop reading the book if the next chapter starts on the right side in the book. I have to keep reading until a chapter starts on the left side of the book and it also has to be an even chapter number. Yep, I'm weird........
Are you someone who doesn't like to dog-ear his books? Maybe that is why you look for a good stopping place so you can remember where you were at?

If one is a serious collector then one never dog-ears....;-D
Well, I do still have books my dad read to me before I started grade school (The Call of the Wild, Pinnochio, Alice in Wonderland etc.). Some of them are patched with mailing tape, but they don't mean any less to me. I am all about only keeping books that I have actually read (or am serious about reading) though. It makes me feel good to look at my small collection and know that I have read them all. So I guess I do have some standards!

I read one book at a time. Oh.. well, not exactly true.. hahahaha I keep some type of self help book in the bathroom at all times!!! :D and I never ever never dog ear a book.. for any reason.. some kind of bookmark. Not sure if any of that would be considered a quirk. I , as well, have to stop at the end of a chapter on the right side. Isn't that peculiar? Also.. I have to read a real book.. I cannot use a kindle. I have bought them and tried and gave them away. I have to hold a real book. hmmmm.. can't think of anything else.
