Nope.

He was found not guilty. A videotape of him murdering them could surface and he couldn't be tried for it again. BUT, I'm sure the legal system would try to find some other thing to charge him with. Trespassing, stalking -- new charges. But not murder.
He's sitting in a jail in Vegas, I believe. I think he got a harsher sentence from the judge because of what he got away with before.

God,what a cluster...the cop, when the construction guy handed it to him(in the first place, why didn't the construction guy call the police the minute he found it!?) should have called for a marked police car,and immediately turned it over to him or her to be bagged as evidence..there is just no excuse for not doing that.He may be facing charges,it is kind of a unique situation,so they will have to research the case law,but ordinarily that would be evidence tampering. At the least,I would think the idiot has put his retirement in jeopardy as they may cut off his benefits under a morals clause. The knife may still have dried dna,it was a folding buck knife I believe they said,so there may be blood down in the crevices of the handle when it was closed.

According to news stories at the time, a knife or part of one was found when cleaning the toilet tanks of the airplanes including the one in which O. J. flew to Chicago. He was nervous on the flight and went to the restroom more than once. The knife found could have come out of any plane from that airline flown in June.

Another story was that a knife was missing from Nicole's kitchen. Apparently she was alarmed and defensive at O. J. showing up at her place and sealed her own death warrant by coming at him swinging. If a knife suspected to be involved has been found tests are certainly in order to see if it matches the rest of the set, if those have not all gone as souvenirs by now. :glare: Also, maybe two knives were involved if he went there armed with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Yeah,I bet he was nervous..but smuggling the murder weapon onto the plane, why, that would seal his fate if he got caught during inboarding..it makes sense that he disposed of it quickly. And Nicole attacking him seems like a stretch too,the evidence seems to point to him being there in ambush mode and carried it out..not uncommon for knife murderers to cut themselves on their own blade unless the knife is equipped with a blade guard on the hilt,as the hand slips when striking bone, and of course there are his blood droplets, one by one, leaving the scene, tested and shown to be his..

He tried to explain away a cut on his finger as due to becoming so upset on hearing of Nicole's murder he broke a drinking glass.

Also, the Las Vegas case is linked to the civil murder case. OJ was hiding memorabilia from The Goldman's and gave his memorabilia to someone to keep for him. Then that person (or persons) started selling his stuff. OJ got mad and tried to take it back and got nailed for armed robbery. Ka is a wheel.

Different system, I know, but this is the kind of thing that caused our lot to do away with 'double jeopardy' laws. These days, if new evidence emerges you can be retried on the original charge, even if the first verdict was Not Guilty. IIRC the change came about largely because of the Stephen Lawrence case, but there were a couple of others where the new evidence would have secured a conviction had it been available in the first trial.

Won't it be interesting, though, if there's DNA evidence on the knife not only of the victims, but of the killer...and it isn't OJ's?

This makes me so sad and mad all over again.

Take note of lawyer Robert Kardashian, he can't hide how shocked he is when verdict is read. They all knew.

I canNOT watch this. It upsets me to this day. My kids, when they are f'ing with me will say, mom, I want you to watch this youtube, or hear this song or whatever, and then they play THAT. I should've let their father eat them when they were born.

If I remember correctly, the killer somehow got Nicole to come outside of her condo, so if it was someone unknown to her would she do that in the dark? No. She knew who it was.....

It sucks that you can't try him again if there are his fingerprints/DNA on the handle and Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman blood/DNA on the blade.
Even if he could be tried again his defense would get the case thrown out due to lack of chain-of-evidence on the knife itself and they would say (again) that it was tampered with and/or planted. The killer will get what's coming to him when he leaves this plane of existence......

Reminds me of

Mel Ignatow (March 26, 1938 – September 1, 2008)[1] was a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, U.S., who murdered his former girlfriend, Brenda Sue Schaefer, in 1988. The case was controversial because Ignatow was acquitted of the charge, but photographs proving his guilt were uncovered after the trial. Under the legal principle of double jeopardy, however, Ignatow could not be tried a second time for the murder. He was, instead, convicted and jailed for perjury in his grand jury testimony for the case on several occasions.

...the film showed Ignatow torturing and raping Schaefer, just as Shore had described. Ignatow's face was not in the pictures, but body hair patterns and moles matched him perfectly.

I can appreciate the emotional response, especially considering the brutality of these murders, but no, no it doesn't really suck they don't get another bite at the apple.
But okay, let's say we just go ahead and say if they could, what if another bad prosecution failed, have triple jeapordy then, quadtruple, how many shots at it would be enough?
They had their chance, they blew it, spectacularly, and that there is a prime reason why we have double jeapordy, or prosecutions are to what, be allowed to slog forward until they finally get it right?
Nah no thanks, when the system actually works, but then we don't like it, that's just tough tata's on us.
This case is the case that changed my mind about cameras in a criminal court though, Christ on a three ring circus cracker was that was ever a practically criminal embarrassment to the courts.
