Is this real?? That's terrible!! Now I'm sad and need to visit Sunny's positive thread!
No - it is NOT real - at the end they say pet ownership is a serious responsibility - guess you could not watch it until the end?

Well - actually they talk about pet abandonment - the woman has a very strange/weird accent - sort of British

(Thank goodness it was just an ad for the Toronto Humane Society) :tiger::playful::pig::fox::dog::cat:

Can't claim this one as my own, but how cool. Husband wants a black cat with green eyes, wife wants a yellow cat with blue eyes, so they compromised? :p

Not my dog but a favorite breed (Border Collie) that's scary intelligent with beautiful and intense working style. If we just owned a bit more land we'd have room for livestock.. :(

My husband's family had many border collies and dingoes. They are intense working dogs. They LOVE to work and keep moving. And they are very loyal.

I love and live for that intensity. Watching a good Border Collie work sheep is hypnotizing to me. I've worked my dogs of various breeds in various situations for a lot of years but nothing stacks up to a BC in that intensity (or intelligence); it's like they have this unquenchable need to work and learn. And that strong-eyed working trait adds to the look of that intensity!
Border Collies in agility ain't so boring, either :) Especially when they learn it's really fun to make this screaming yelling growling noise as they zip through the weave poles at 900 mph. What's bad for me is I hate running and when they're fast but haven't learned directional cues or the names of the obstacles, they usually want to turn around, trip me, and scream at me to hurry up :D

Earlier for kicks, we got on the JACA (Japanese Akita Club of America) site because we were interested in the difference between Japanese Akita-Inu and American Akita. We know of some breeders in our circle that have imported dogs (not Akita) from their home countries for working or breeding purposes. Not like we would ever import a dog or have a need to import a dog (we show for fun and don't bring puppies into the mix), but I saw this on JACA and almost fell over:
"Overseas, it is not uncommon to find that show quality adults are going for as high as $75,000."

Aww that is to bad. Are you going to keep one?
I want to but we live in a duplex. Out of courtesy we asked my horrible Russian neighbor if we could; at first, she at first said yes but then told me that her son, who is coming back to live with her, said no. We own our house and there is no town ordinance against it. She’s just being unreasonable so we don’t want World War III. We are just going to put our house on the market and move so that next year we can keep chickens.

Saturday morning, I found this guy running around in the street in front of my house. He had no ID tag. I took him to the vet this morning to get him scanned for a chip and he didn't have one. I called the Humane Society and no one has reported him missing yet. I walked him all over the neighborhood Saturday and Sunday asking if anyone recognized him and asking if anyone had been looking for a dog. No one seems to no anything about him. So, if no one claims him soon, I'm planning on keeping him. I would guess that he's about 3 years old. He made himself right at home in my house. He's acting like he's always been there and doesn't seem the least bit stressed out that he's lost.
