Oh boy, I'm looking through it all now and I just got really emotional about closing this thing down. I started it up in 2007 and that was a really big year for me... and ooh... this is really closing a chapter.

Thanks for your help Maddie....

Youre welcome Flake :smile2: I know looking through it all is so endearing and then so sad to think of parting with it after sooo many years. I think I began there around that same year. That's a hard button to click.

Oh man... I have everything I want and yet here I am...still not clicking 'delete this account'. *sigh*

I don't think I could click it either. Maybe you can hold off and see if they come to their senses in the meantime, they have ALOT of sellers hell raising mad over at Ebay and Amazon. :snowman:

There is always Image Shack. I used to use Photo Bucket when I had to have a host for TTLG site (a gamer one with some old buds) but haven't in years. Lucky I still have all those I put there still on my computer. This is pathetic. They had made it more difficult to use over the years and so I drifted over to Image Shack but haven't bothered with them either for years. I guess we are old farts still using outdated platforms compared to kids with smart phones these days.

I hadn't even thought of PhotoBucket for years until I saw this thread and then thought I'd try to bring anything special back over, just in case they got shut down or something. Mostly I save on my phone or Dropbox.

One thing I do wish is that there was an easy way to download all your photos at once rather than one at a time. Mayhaps someone has made a plug-in that does this...
I used to have a Firefox addon called image grabber, haven't used it for years though. I used it for forums that linked to an album of thumbnails on sites like imagebam or imagevenue (don't know if they even exist anymore). Don't know if it would work with photobucket.

I just discovered this today and wanted to pass it on , If you use Photobucket, as I have for the last over 10 years, you have to now start paying for it, if you want to share your photos here, or anywhere.

The worst part is, that although this became effective June 20th, and they announced it on the 26th, they have replaced all photos previously hosted , with this .....

I see this on mine as far back as the Hometown thread posts I did in January of this year! I don' know how far back in time this is happening but surely a lot of them now in the Birthday threads and the Jealous of the Big threads, I think its disgusting of them! Theyre allowing us to download our photos, but SOL for the ones that are already on public platforms like here.

They're just holding them hostage and will release them once you 'subscribe' to a payment plan.

heres a link to an article about it with other links to more .....

Photobucket accused of blackmail after quietly requiring users to pay $400 a year to hotlink - The Verge
Thanks for sharing this, Maddie. This explains why I wasn't able to post the pic of Depp that I promised to Flake. I kept getting the image that you just shared, and thought there was a glitch. I've now removed all my pics from photobucket....and like you, I've used them for 10 years. It will be a pain in the arse, but I'll find another way. Do you use another site that you'd recommend?

.....and don't worry, FlakeNoir .......I'll make you another Depp pic! ;;D

So... not a total waste of time having Photobucket jerk us around then?
Thanks Photobucket... I owe you one. :biggrin2:

Youre welcome Sunny. :smile2: I sure don't , but I was looking around, the one that seems to be most recommended is Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet its been around for 8 years and family owned and operated, and it is and always will be free forever they say, but I don't know for sure, but when I am and find the good one I will be Happy to share it with you. :tickled_pink:

I test uploaded a photo to this one it doesn't require an account ... Free Image Hosting - FreeImageHosting.net - For your online galleries, message boards, auction photos, and blogs to get an idea of where these photos are stored after you get the link, but, apparently it disappeared! and there was no way to retrieve the photo or code, I am still trying to figure out where that picture went!

all thanks to

The good thing about this (SKMB) site is that we can upload directly from our computers and we also have the copy and paste option, so we don't have to store images that we want to share here if they are already available online.

I had missed that option for so long but I use it all the time now and so glad that we have that. That CEO guy for some reason it wouldn't let me transfer the copy from that article to the board and it kept disappearing, but it would let me save it to my computer but I was thinking how I didn't want to keep him and so then he got served to his competition host with that big smile which is probably already about to disappear.
