I hope I haven't been too harsh on NJ; I'm sure there are many beautiful areas and nice neighborhoods that I missed during my travels. I think I just got unlucky with my unpleasant experiences.Yep. South Jersey Shore is beautiful. Pine Barrens, Farms lands.I hope I haven't been too harsh on NJ; I'm sure there are many beautiful areas and nice neighborhoods that I missed during my travels. I think I just got unlucky with my unpleasant experiences.

You've not expert true wild woods 'til you've visited here......As a kid vacation was at Wildwood Crest for me.
Cue the banjos? Raleigh & Durham doesn’t count? I did vacation once at Lake Gaston, and it seemed quite tamer compared to up here in the Poconos. We have mountain folk, too, ya know. As a matter of fact I live on a mountain, but it's been a long time since I've sported dungarees. You've not expert true wild woods 'til you've visited here......

Yeah, it was very nice there away from the maddening crowds and lunatics at Wildwood. As a kid we usually stayed at the Pan American. The fancy end of the boardwalk! My friend has a vacation home there.
Oh man, that brings back memories. Never did the invisible dog leash but saw plenty. And always got my tie dye hippy T-Shirts and Baja ponchos there, because they had the best selections. And bootleg 8-Track tapes, of course.Bet you went the boardwalk. Walked one of those invisible dog leashes and hit the magic shops with dribble glasses.
'Watch the tram car, please'
I was little and thought I had a invisible dog. I was very careful with the leash. My parents let me think so.
err. Like when I was driving one of the rides. The track with race car. So concerned about making turns.
I liked salt water taffy but had to give it up as it’s a surefire extractor of old fillings. And their fudge was the best. I had to laugh at the billboard for Schmidt’s Beer in the picture I posted. It was the very first beer I ever purchased. I booked myself on a fishing trip out of Wildwood when I was 14. When we got into international waters I wondered if they would sell me a beer... and they did.Yes, salt water taffy and fudge shops and tee shirts places and all that, still.
I don't think anyone really likes salt water taffy? But we all ate it on a hot day. And fudge later.
Nope, Raleigh and Durham do not count..... Watauga County is hard to explain.......where else can you find areas with such catchy names as Pottertown, Hog Elk, and Sampson?....and don't forget The Globe. Come for a visit, and I'll take you to all these exciting places.Cue the banjos? Raleigh & Durham doesn’t count? Yeah, right. Come for a visit she says. I'm not that old to have forgotten all the death threats, the flame thrower, poking with sharp sticks, and stump water. Momma didn't raise no fool.Nope, Raleigh and Durham do not count.....
