Shout out to the local mechanic. When I got my new tires, the shop quoted a bunch more things that they recommended to have done, to the tune of nearly $1k. Not being a total idiot, I bought my tires & took it under advisement. Today my local guy had some time & took a look. Only 2 things actually needed to be done (well, 3, but I'm not paying $50 for an oil change that took BH a few minutes this weekend), to the tune of just less than $250. Bless Jerry (the mechanic). My thankfulness thought for the day :)

You are ok. Don't be so hard on yourself :smile2:

I think high achievers are too hard on themselves when (on the very odd occasion) something goes wrong. Let yourself feel it a little bit, (this will help you on your next task... head down, ass up so to speak, shoulder to the grind.) but, most importantly, forgive yourself.
We all fook up sometimes, it's how we prove we're from this planet and not another.

Go eat something yummy, put on some good music, finish yer damned homework ;;D and then let that MoFo go... :)

Do not be so hard on yourself. If need be, question the teacher on exactly how much detail was expected and where was it lacking. Use this as a spring board to a better task next time. Learn from it, but do not allow it to control your future work. One grade does not a student make. Sending a ton of posit vibes your way. Onward and upward to all future tasks!

CriticAndProud--It's ok! Don't think too much about it! Keep on studying hard and you'll ace the next one and onwards! It will be all good! =D:thumbs_up:

Sometimes we are just to hard on ourselves. At least its just one mark. You will do better.

:biglove:

And bless him even more because he knocked off another $40 because I paid cash. $210 is much better than $988.

poor guys are probably eating peanut butter samwiches the rest of the week! dontcha know mechanics like to eat, too! but yeah, been down that road before...there was this once, drop a tie rod on 75 in Toledo, rush hour traffic...slush....6" of it so I'm able to "steer" over into the breakdown lane...hope a fence...everyone is knocking off work...me with enough gas money to get me to Florida...lady and her son watching from behind the waterdrops on the windows of the Pontiac...actually, this story worked out okay...it was this other time, Racine, same thing, on way to Florida...when all else fails you chuck it all in the wastebacket and go to Florida, Charlie Decker...paraphrased, but close...brakes this time. No brakes. I seek out the Midas touch...maybe...I dunno...phone book maybe? saw an ad? They put me up in a hotel for the night...I pay...they brought me over...picked me up the day. Don't recall what the amount was, same beat-to-hell Pontiac, or wait now...the other'n was a LTD wagon...memory, sheesh. So yeah, the casserole turned out great!

I'd rather provide the peanut butter for my honest local guy than the others :) Mine was a tie rod (left inner) and brakes on the front. BH could do both, but he's working 10-12 hrs/day 7 days a week for the next few weeks. Rather pay someone than kill him off :dizzy:

naw...a casserole sounds better...cabbage rolls. yeah, that does sound steep for what you describe. What's a BH? I'm thinking you know Benny Hill and he's busy chasing women in underwear, music playing in the background, Benny with that leer once he stops and faces camera.

Beloved Husband :) And cabbage rolls sound GREAT--I haven't made them in a couple of years. The tire dealer wanted to do a bunch more stuff to make up the full cost. On their estimate, just doing the brakes and tie rod were $560.

Beloved Husband sounds like a good name for a horror story. Probably because there are so many tombstones with that on them. Just sayin.

I mean, it's got to be a lie sometimes right? Some absolutely evil bastard gets it in the end and his stone is a bitter irony. I would read it.

Oh lord, I think my internet has died, or has given up on being anything resembling efficiency. In the time it took me to load this page, I think my hair has started going grey (that's gray to some of you). You are probably receiving this message about 5 friggin hours after I pressed "post reply".
