I meet my teacher weekly for my independent study class. He couldn't meet last week, so he rescheduled for today. Drive to school, go to his office, office is locked. I'm thinking he's in the building somewhere, so I send him an email that I'm here. He emails me back that he had to go home  Have an hour to kill before my class starts...

I went to "Shawshank" this weekend, but it as just the Haunted prison. The tours are closed for the season. I did see the Oak tree. Random Thought - I was not scared at all! I went through the prison with screaming people. I loved looking around the prison blocks and being inside, but other than that, not even a jump or scream escaped me. There were silly things, like Freddy, Jason, etc. Guys jumping out at you and you know that there's no way they can hurt you. Of course, if I was in the prison on a ghost hunt and it was dark and spooky, that might a different story.
That is pretty cool! Too bad you missed the King Kon this past summer - it would have been nice to see you there!

He could have taped a note to the door at least (that would have been considerate rather than leaving you wondering).

Yes! Or at least shoot me an email...oh, well! It's kind of funny, for my next class, our teacher went home sick so for class we just finished watching The English Patient (reading the book, too) That class is really small (just eight students, including me) so we were like 'what the heck' and stayed...in case she asked about what we thought of the movie LOL.

I think I have mentioned this some where before. If one is going to be vegetarian or vegan that is fine. However, strongly dislike when some is all preachy about it. Just enjoy your little tofu and I will enjoy my big piece of meat.

The older I get the less meat I eat. I wouldn't ever eat any but a little lean turkey or chicken on occasion makes my digestive system feel better (I have IBS). I feel sad when I think of all the animals that are needlessly slaughtered so the population can overeat and be unhealthy. It only takes a small amount of animal meat to fulfill the protein requirement a human needs, should you choose to get your protein this way. Also, the biggest producer of greenhouse gas is cattle-breeding, which is skyrocketing due to a huge increase in global demand for meat. I personally don't mind vegetarians speaking up; I'm happy they are sensitive to our planet and the animals that live on it.

What kind of road trip are you taking? Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska (GO BIG RED!), Iowa and Missouri - all just today?
Hello the rest of Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennesee, Georgia, Florida. I waved at all of you as I traveled through. Atlanta traffic was crazeeeeee!

Holly, My sister and brother in law came to visit by car and I hopped in the car and rode back with them. It's been great fun but exhausting!

Atlanta traffic may be a unique challenge among big cities. This morning it took me two whole hours to get home from my nightshift, though the added time was due to my choice to try a route which is geographically shorter. Nevertheless, when I am driving home from work, morning rush hour in Atlanta, it usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to go 42 miles. I heard not long ago that Atlanta has the longest work commute of any big U.S. city (maybe any U.S. city, I don't remember that specific).
