it's more just a WTH moment. Most of the time I just stare at them in disbelief.

Maybe it is a mental block on their part (this is all I can think of) and then when they get the thought later, they think that they were the first to think of it?

(because the opposite is that they are just pure evil!)

Well, I wouldn't call them evil, but you just think, why would it be a big deal to say, Dana said this or told me this, or helped me with this? Why do people have trouble giving kudos?

So you think they realize you thought of it first and they just want to "steal your thunder"? The human mind is a weird thing - you must have typed Psych reports back when you were a medical transcriptionist?

I absolutely love dancing to pop music out in public, but don't do it anywhere near often enough.

I know it might seem crazy, but I'm quite a shy person deep down (yeah me,Mad Champ). So have always needed alcohol to do it. But once I get going I don't want to stop.

There are just people who I will tell them how to solve something, they look at me like I'm crazy, and then a couple days later the exact same stuff comes out of their mouth that I said as if they thought of it themselves and they are brilliant. And it solved the problem. Give me credit!

Check 'em when it happens, DJ. You can do it nicely . . .say something like, 'Yeah, I mentioned that the other day.' That's how I deal with it when I feel I should be recognized. You don't have to be mean about it but if you do it enough they will respect you more.

My ideas are jacked a lot, even on the web. Mostly I let it go but sometimes I do speak up. I don't think most realize that they are doing it because they are so focus on themselves shinning and they actually believe the ideas come from them.

yes - that is what I meant = so self absorbed they have a mental block about others ideas and have convinced themselves they had the idea first!

There seem to me to be a number of possible things going on, maybe more than one at a time. My first thought is that sometimes an exceptionally gifted or intelligent employee is viewed in an outcast role, and so reserved for societal punishment including judgment and other forms of rejection. When circumstances - which on the job are created, intentionally or not, by the employer - allow for such an exceptional employee to be abused, little change is possible via direct contact with said employer.

It sounds to me as if there's no direct action you can take, Deej, as long as you remain employed where you are; not without causing more discomfort for yourself in a process likely, imho, to fail. What you can do though is continue offering your contributions, hoping that some of those hearing you are superior personalities to the rest; who will begin to give you credit, at least sometimes at first.
