Selkirk is a 30 minute drive north of my place. I hope he never goes off his meds
He is going to have bus passes. Imagine getting on the transit system and having him seated next to you. He was on the elevator going down and Becky had one of the cats in a carrier to visit the vet. He looked at the cat and said Chinese lunch to her...his idea of a joke, I guess.

In your mirror.
This makes me so angry. This guy lived in the apartment building above me before I moved to this house. I, actually, made him food in the eatery where I cooked. This is a horrible thing he did. I cannot believe they are going to let him have freedom.

Hi, Ms. Staro.

I would like to believe I understand your anger. I am appalled, shocked and dumbstruck.

I did some research and found this:

(Warning!)

Killing of Tim McLean - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the USA the VERY few murderers that are found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and sent to a facility for the criminally insane stay there for the rest of their lives. However, and this is a BIG however, when the patient responds to treatment (meds/therapy) the psychiatrists, by law, are mandated to inform the authorities the person is responding to treatment and no longer a threat.(Mind you, they are responding to treatment IN THE FACILITY!) And...are released. They may have a ton of requirements to abide by but they are released. (BTW-my baby brother was reading an article in the news paper where a murderer was released from the insane asylum and went on to commit another murder. He pointed at me and said something to the effect, "You psychologist/psychiatrists let these murderers out an they go off and kill again!)

It's not US (psychologists/psychiatrists) who *let them off*. It's the justice system. If that *human* is responding to the meds/therapy... they get out.

(These *patients* are not, for the most part, compliant to taking their meds, Bummer)

Sorry. Long winded post. But really, we do not have the ability to keep a murderer/rapist/pedophile if they are complying.

Peace.

We have had a serious fatal stabbing incident here in Edmonton this week. Two workers have lost their lives. A psych evaluation on the guy who did it claimed he was Normal and he was given probation. Another incident where mental health workers had their head up their arse. I majored in psych and minored in sociology but I think the system is so whacked.

...one bullet is cheaper than a prescription...

One well placed bullet to the back of the head and

And a lot less paperwork......
I guess then he would get his wish - this is so close to home for me. They held him at the PsycHealth Centre where I work and I remember when it happened. We were all very freaked out about it.
One time someone knocked on our door (it is a secure area) on a weekend when Vince was still up on the third floor and I said "Who is it?" :O_O: (It was just a doctor :glee:)
