In your mirror.
Good Sunday evening.

I think there is a huge difference.

To me, a bosom is a place of sanctuary. A place where I can rest my head and feel loved, protected and find some peace.

Men don't have breasts but their chest can also be a sanctuary. (Way cool.)

Have you ever found refuge in someone's bosom or chest? Have you ever provided this kind of care?

All thoughts/experiences are appreciated.

Peace.

My mother's family is not a large busted clan (as my daughters mournfully remind me every swimsuit season--lol), with the exception of my great grandma. She was warm and soft and plump, the most grandmotherly Mrs. Santa Claus grandma ever, and I still can't think of a place I've ever felt more safe and loved than snuggled on her lap, head resting on her chest.

'Bosom' reminds me of the Brontes, Dickens, Stoker. Or Bosom Buddies featuring a young Tom Hanks. Scarlet O'Hara. Hammer vampire movies.

'Breasts' calls to mind doctor's office visits, Pink bracelets, fear (I mean, free-associtiation 'first thought' like). Just clinical, cold, scientific. And something you can find in the Colonel's Five Dollar fill-up (original recipe, please). Hmm.

My grandma's bosom was soft and saggy. In her day, she was big-chested. But, as time is a thief, it took away the firm tissue and replaced it with soft folds of skin.
