In your mirror.
Frickin Jeff Lynn and ELO, huh? Telephone line, give me some time...

Not gonna lie to yez, this is a drunken muskrat speaking. Gosh, things are getting grim around my neck of the wood. Favorite pub closed down, my job gonna close down (whenever they quit giving me work, that is), all my friends married, dead, or incarcerated...

But I don't mean to gripe. I keep telling myself to sever all human ties to the world, you know...one of those 'focus on yer work' mindsets--but when it all comes slamming down in rapid succession like this...leaving no other choice...gosh.

I dunno, just a bunch of strange changes going on right now. Ugh. Like I could give a derf. Just give me some paper, ink, maybe some keys to punch. A writer must forsake this world for another, everybody knows that.

Thanx fer talkin. You know I coulda been on that pit crew in Atlanta...

Hi everyone.

Great pictures, Skimom! Looks like so much fun!

((((Muskie)))) Thinking about you. Only positive vibes being sent!

Still no internet here. Talked with support yesterday, 3 different people. All 3 said everything looked fine. The 3rd person I told well, the tablet in my lap says we are getting 65 Mbps right now. His answer? That is seriously strange. THEN he says, Yes, I can see drops on your line. (Didn't you just get done telling me everything looked good?!?)

So we set up a service call, this morning between 8:30-12:30. He just called a bit ago and said they had a bad line somewhere, at least 50 customers affected. Need parts to fix it and they are being overnighted. So hopefully by tomorrow I will be back up and running again.

Hope you all are well! Sending big hugs and positive vibes to all. :love_heart:

Here's my dilemma of the day. I have a graphic novel to pitch. The book's written out, but less than half of the artwork is done. Do I pitch the project with part of the artwork done with a synopsis of the rest? Or take the time to finish the whole thing?
I can't decide. If they like it and want it NOW, I don't have it. But if they hate it and don't want it, I will have spent a LOT of time on it for nothing.
I are confused.

Stay sane, Cat. Hope it is a quick fix. Time for a good book.

Don't you usually send like the first 3 chapters to an agent and see if they bite or are interested? Do that first and while you are waiting, you can keep working.

For some reason I have the gall to assume I know something about such things and say submit it now. I think if they really like what they see they'll understand that you need time to finish it.

Do you have a history with the company, such that they would look at what you have and be able to judge? If not, it would probably be better to have something to show them. They might be good with a synopsis, but you can't count on that, especially as it's a graphic novel. If it works anything like book publishing, with an unfamiliar author they usually want to look at three chapters first; if they like that, they'll ask for the whole MS, and you'd better have it in hand and ready to go. Keep in mind, even if your first choice doesn't like your pitch there are other companies out there that might.

Ordinarily, yeah. But this isn't apitch to an agency. It's a pitch right to the source.
I think I will roll with the first third or so complete with artwork and a synopsis of the rest. It gives them a good sampling of my artwork to judge from, and the complete story. While I wait to hear back, I can crank out the rest.

To the publisher, do you mean, instead of to an agent?

Angry. Very upset lately.
First, some one twisted a Facebook post about my depression, PTSD, and anxiety.
As much as I wish, there is no cure only improving and keep on living.
Not was told third party. I am far from suicidal. Too much art to create.
Now I have people nagging me about work. I got a part time job, work hours vary each weekend.
The last straw was me being told to get a real job.
Sign Spinners is work. My first week I had pulled muscle and blistered hands.
But whatever. Upset, closed my Facebook for couple days and after break I am going to be taking people off my list.
Just crappy month. On an awesome note; I celebrated nine years clean and seven years sober.
Yea. So I am going to go paint. Bring my spirit back up.
Laters Mates....

Awesome per your recovery, Wulf. Big pats on the back.

Facebook can be something of a curse. I know I've estranged friends there without wanting to. The thing is the internet allows people to express how much they suck, who'd rarely say the same things to a person's face.
