Yeah - I am kinda leaning towards buying a fresh turkey - we will see how tomorrow goes.

Bookmarks? (or is that just too "already done") - it makes sense, actually.Completely forgot that I have a book signing tomorrow. Thank god the organizer called to confirm and I got my books ordered for a Reader's Luncheon in November (I'll worry about books for that one after Saturday, I guess--lol), but I have no 'gimmes'--out of bookmarks, pens, etc. Any ideas? They're an expected thing around here. One book has a beach theme, the other...maybe drinks? Wineglass charms? I'll be doing The Spinning Dance for the rest of the day, trying to figure all this out on top of my normal Friday stuff.
One hint for those who hope to go with a small publisher: marketing does very little. Be prepared to do just about everything yourself. I got my books ordered, but that's about it. "It's a cash and carry world," as someone wise once said
Hi kids. Another week under my belt. Work still comin in. Just me and the owner's daughter (who does most of my sand blasting, inspection, and packing) are STILL making the place plenty of money, apparently. Strange, but at times just she and I do the work of what use to take three, four guys--and we're getting it done FASTER and better. I think it's due to the fact that we're all laid back and easy going--not like my former boss, who had everyone on pins and needles with his sour, b*tchy attitude.
She (her name's Lisa, my only co-worker!) and I had a good long talk today about Bobby (my former supervisor)--about what a crotchety old snake the bastid was. We also discussed how peaceful and breezy everything has become with Bobby gone. Up until now (thanx to Bobby's sneaky manipulations) we were each convinced that neither of us liked the other. Turns out, we get along fine, and make a good team. (She's even been buying me breakfast sandwiches in the morning! Can I get a 'yer bugger?)
So, in conclusion, my workplace has become a stress free and much more rewarding environment. Oh, if this could only LAST! But I got a feeling this is gonna be the last quarter, doggone it. Oh well, gonna ride it out for all its worth (and hope for a big fat severance package).
