(((Cat))) Very happy it all worked out in your favor in the end but completely understand the frustration. A simple phone call would have saved them a lot of work that it's now taking to fix it so you would think they'd do that first. My guess is that they don't want to have to deal with the upset employees when they get the bad news.

The local HR person said it happened all the time. You would think they would figure something else out rather than cause additional stress on people.

Just off the top of my head... let the local HR people tell corporate when it is time to cut someone's benefits. Or put the reason why someone is inactive on the stupid list! Both would be easier and more time and cost effective, I would think.

Good morning,

We had a stressful weekend. Everything was going along fine until I went through the mail. We had a letter from corporate HR that stated as of 2/12 Scott had been put on reduced hours status at work and so bye-bye health insurance. Letter went on to say it was time to sign up for COBRA. And as an added bonus, the letter itself was dated after the 12th.

Of course it is the weekend so we had hell trying to get someone to answer what the heck was going on. Scott was approved for short term disability at 100% for 6 months. It has been 3...and the policy changed as of January to 3 months.

Turns out that corporate gets 2 lists, active employees and inactive...but the inactive list does not tell the reason, all they see is that they are getting paid for not working. So instead of finding out, they just automatically send these letters out. Brilliant freaking policy!!

Anyway, we are ok. The local HR person is handling it today. I imagine we are going to have to have all claims since the 12th resubmitted though. Which is more than slightly irritating. Why can't these people make a simple phone call and make sure what they are doing is correct before dropping all benefits?!?

I swear, I had a serious freak out and if I could have gotten someone on the phone, it would not have been good for the person on the other end.

That is my weekend story! Sheesh.

Hope you all have a great day. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Wow, glad it was sorted out. Must have been high blood pressure time for all of you. Corporate likes to deal with paper warfare
not people. Making that phone call would have been the smart thing to do, but I don't think smart is a prerequisite for those
people.

You all got it wrong..... This tuesday is Semla tuesday.
semla_0.jpg

It is associated with shrove tuesday which, i am told, occurs tomorrow. Taste good but they are dangerous. They have a filling with almond cream and things. My mind is saying eat one but my stomach is saying dont even think about but considering how bad i am at resisting temptations i think the outcome is a given.
Yesterday I asked many people if they knew what Pancake Tuesday is.

Not one single person knew what I was talking about! Wow

I would LOVE to go to one of those parades. Always wanted to rent a Winnebago and some friends and I go to New Orleans
for a few weeks. Is the rumour true, about what you have to do to get those beads?
Girls flash their boobs for fun in New Orleans, mostly during the evening parades. In smaller towns, parades are usually much more family friendly. Even in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, there are daytime parades and activities that the kiddies can enjoy without getting an advanced biology lesson.

CRUD! You just reminded me that tomorrow is Ash Wednesday! There goes my chicken noodle soup for dinner idea... :table:

I had to go home after mass and wash my forehead - whoever put my ashes on smeared them from brow to brow, got them on my glasses and some even sprinkled on my nose. And no one told me. I walked around like that for a while - until I went to the restroom and startled myself. And I thought I had some peanut butter in my desk drawer for a snack - there was about a teaspoon left. I am ready to eat my shoes. I'm making spinach parm orzo for dinner, though.

That's so funny!

Hope you make it until supper time.

If you have any time while making dinner please say a quick prayer for me. I have a funny feeling my manager may not give me an absolutely glowing review as there has been some tension in the past between us.

I just hope the new manager at the mailroom is willing to take a chance on me.
:burn_joss_stick:

Quick edit - I applied for a new job.

I just realized it was posted in a different thread
Wow - I'm glad today is finally over- time to vamoose

Ask your manager "Have you ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?" It's a sure bet to make an impression. If that doesn't work go with "I once shot a man in Reno...just to watch him die." You know, just ice breaker type statements.....;;D Seriously, good luck on the job ma'am.

Now that sounds delicious! Recipe, for favor? I think we'll just do bean and cheese burritos tonight. I just got home from work and need something fast :)
