Girls flash their boobs for fun in New Orleans, mostly during the evening parades. In smaller towns, parades are usually much more family friendly. Even in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, there are daytime parades and activities that the kiddies can enjoy without getting an advanced biology lesson.
:)
My brother is on the way down there tonight :) I think he's missed only a couple of Mardi Gras in NOLA in the last 15 years. He was sad to have missed actual Fat Tuesday, but this is the best he could do. How long do the festivities last in your area?

Behind you
I had to go home after mass and wash my forehead - whoever put my ashes on smeared them from brow to brow, got them on my glasses and some even sprinkled on my nose. And no one told me. I walked around like that for a while - until I went to the restroom and startled myself. And I thought I had some peanut butter in my desk drawer for a snack - there was about a teaspoon left. I am ready to eat my shoes. I'm making spinach parm orzo for dinner, though.

We were always told (or maybe we told ourselves) that we were not allowed to wash the ashes off until the next day. Twas a sin! So we walked around in grade school seeing who had the biggest drips.
Always wanted to be the drip winner.

That's so funny!

Hope you make it until supper time.

If you have any time while making dinner please say a quick prayer for me. I have a funny feeling my manager may not give me an absolutely glowing review as there has been some tension in the past between us.

I just hope the new manager at the mailroom is willing to take a chance on me.
:burn_joss_stick:

Quick edit - I applied for a new job.

I just realized it was posted in a different thread
Wow - I'm glad today is finally over- time to vamoose

Good luck!

In our tiny little town, we have a parade on the weekend, and that's it. But the season starts around the beginning of February and lasts through March. Truth be told, it's pretty much a way of life. But Feb and March are when King Cakes are sold.

I'm excited for you! I will certainly remember you in my prayers! They'd be getting the best if they take a chance on you!

Now that sounds delicious! Recipe, for favor? I think we'll just do bean and cheese burritos tonight. I just got home from work and need something fast :)

Yum on the burritos!

So for the orzo - easy! Butter, garlic, lemon over your orzo (kind of like a scampi sauce) toss in a bag of baby spinach and however much parmesan you like. I like mine very peppery but I have to add it to my plate - no one else likes pepper as much as me.

I was the winner yesterday then! And the sinner!

Did you see in What Are You Reading that I tagged you? If you google the story, it's on the web as a pdf. It's good, but it will make you cry. The Great Silence...Ted Chiang. Magnificent!

Ask your manager "Have you ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?" It's a sure bet to make an impression. If that doesn't work go with "I once shot a man in Reno...just to watch him die." You know, just ice breaker type statements.....;;D Seriously, good luck on the job ma'am.

Good luck!

Well - guess what [drum roll] - I got it!

She called me today for another interview

I did not tell her that I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die :butterfly::):m_adore: however I think this is going to be a really good area of the hospital to work in.

I like the manager which is a great start!

Thanks to everyone for all the good wishes :haha:

Thankee kindly

It involves a variety of shifts and has the same pay, same Union etc. I think it will be the best thing I could do for my health right now (hopefully the walking will make me feel better)

My arse should be 3 feet wide by now after 11 years of sitting on it!
(Thankfully it is not that bad yet)
