I've always liked the talk show attire King always favors. Jeans, T-shirt, and the ubiquitous velcro orthopedic shoes. He used to occasionally wear a sports jacket, depending on the venue, but has settled into the 'just folks' outfit that wins him a lot of admirers. To me, it's all-American and reminds us just how humble he is. Besides giving millions to charities, he has kept to his humble roots. When you put aside the few luxury homes he's purchased (deservedly so and well earned), which ironically were meant to maintain a normal and safe zone for his family, he has lived the simple life. Coaching little league, spending time at his summer cabin, going to the grocery store, etc.
I suppose this is what endears us to our favorite writer. His affable, down-to-earth persona will be remembered along side his keen storytelling abilities, I think. What does everyone think about this? Any opinions?
