I blew it. I didn't stay away from cheese, my typewriter is having issues, and one of my Facebook friends, director Albert Pyun, could potentially die soon from cerebral atrophy. I feel like an utter waste. Why did I even bother making this thread? How stupid was I?

Do not be so hard on yourself.

You tried and so what you fell off the wagon. It's not stupid to fail, it's stupid to not even try. I ate a cookie and a cupcake at work so..... we're human.
BTW It's very cool to even have a typewriter, fritzy or not.

Connor B -- No stupid on the SKMB- this is a excellent thread that you started. As Pats said- we are all human- we fail, we try again. That is called life.
What kind of typewriter do you have?
I will keep your friend in prayers and positive thoughts. For you, inner peace. Do not give up-- start anew tomorrow.

Do not be so hard on yourself.

What they all said - thanks for starting such an interesting thread. It is sort of like Weight Watchers (to me anyway). You may have a little setback now and then, but don't give up completely.

The big picture is:

You are trying to make a difference. Just examining your habits and trying to improve your life shows you care!:star:

Agreed all around. It's hard to give up things. I have given up my grudge against my mom. She probably never knew it existed, but I've let it go. Worry is a harder thing to give up, but I've got kids. Young adults can really make bad decisions. We call her "Bad Decision Rob Lowe". The gospel last week was about Christ's temptation in the desert. I could elaborate forever about it, but it wasn't a literal 40 days and it wasn't a literal desert; it was about his humanity and his obedience and his struggle with who he really was. It's a beautiful story about the fearful moments of true faith. It's hopeful and it's about not living in fear. I love that gospel.

I do, too. '40 days' is long enough to make a deep change. That term is used in a religious sense, but there is likely some basis to it. In popular wisdom, how long does it take to make or break a habit? Six weeks, or right around 40 days :)

Giving up resentment seems to be the order of the year--that's my challenge also. Hard to do, but worth it.

Good afternoon.

There was some drama here last week. Two staff were asking who wants to pitch in to get family size fried chicken dinner with free desert tomorrow, Friday? I answered, Sounds good but maybe some other time. Thanks." Others also politely declined. Turns out a bunch of people observe Lent and don't eat meat on Friday. The two women got upset with all the *saints* who didn't pitch in to buy fried chicken. (No one behaved holier than thou nor claimed to be saints. Just doing the best we can.)

Peace.

Yuck - who needs that greasy stuff anyway? You are better off without it.

They could always buy a snack pack and share it - you only need a bit of that fried chicken. I find if I eat too much of the breading I end up feeling ill... (pass the Gaviscon please).

People just suck sometimes. Hope they really did not say the word 'saints' Sorry they made you feel bad.

They should asked around first before did the proposal of chicken. It's just common courtesy.

IMO Sometimes people get angry at things they don't understand. Instead of trying to understand why someone is thinking out side of the box (of chicken), they tune up and immediately react like you are being rude. You said you weren't acting judgmental, you just chose not to participate. You didn't tell them they shouldn't do it for heaven's sake. So why should it matter to them?
They just don't get it. It's their little red wagon, let them pull it, you don't have to.
