I only indulge once a year.....
That's once too often.
We love each other every day and do little things all the time. But as has been mentioned any holiday that involves chocolate is fine with me.

We usually try to go out to dinner without the kids--that so rarely happens (lol). Haven't talked about it at all this year, though. I'm going to vote for doing something next weekend. This weekend will be a madhouse. The actual day? For some reason, the kids usually opt for spaghetti and meatballs and homemade focaccia, and Mark always gets each of them a little box of candy and a card. He's WAY more sentimental than I am.
Just me and my man. Or, as this meme puts it:
It is a day.............. That gives me an excuse to buy candyhearts and wolf down!!! So i like it. When my wife was alive i always bought flowers.

This year I have been trying to look past the "romantic" love stuff and be thankful for all the lovable people I know. Sent out a few cards and bought a few sweet treats. A few small trinket gifts for the nieces (from me and my mom) and for my mom's neighbor. I feel so blessed whenever I get to do a little something to brighten someone's day.

I seriously do not understand your not being taken though. Taken for 34 years myself. I would have had to try for you back in the day though.
