1. What are your grandparents' first names?
Now, if you had to pick one of those to name your child (or have as your name), which do you choose, and why?
Sabrina & Ellis (maternal) Dora and Robert (paternal) - We actually did name our daughter Elise in memory of my grandfather Ellis - I'm not really sure why.

2. What ridiculous thing did someone trick you into believing/doing when you were a kid?
When we were in 7th/8th grade my best friend talked me into some stupid stuff. Once I was sitting at her desk/make up table playing with make up and she said "Hey, see what happens if you put those tweezers in that outlet" (you know the one - the lighted make up mirror with the outlet for your hair dryer and curling iron). So I did. Loud "bang", I jumped back so hard the chair went back with me. I ended up on the floor - not hurt, but totally stunned. Her mom came running into the room thinking we were lighting fire crackers in house (it wouldn't have been out of the realm of possibilities). She's still my best girl friend in the world. We don't see each other often, but we have so much fun when we do.

3. What movie would you like to see redone as a musical?
Jaws would be campy, but funny!

4. If horses could talk, what would they say?
Oh my God - you Americans are so fat these days.

5. What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?
Cell phones - they are such a nuisance and distraction. I hate be accessible to everyone all the time.

6. If you were arrested without explanation, what would your family and friends assume you had done?
Probably a traffic violation. I get impatient. I drove on the sidewalk of the main street in town not too long ago because there were some stupids in front of me.

7. What's something you think you'd be good at teaching someone else?
Master skills at taking bubble baths and napping - best oils and salts to use, lighting, soothing art on the walls - these are important skills.

8. When you're attracted to someone, what's the first thing you notice about him/her?
Their eyes (kind or cold, expressive or shut off?), and then their smile (genuine or forced). How I ended up with such a hunk is beyond me.

9. What was the best thing, the highlight, of your week?
Last week: realizing I've got 9 days of no work. My cell phone is off, I'm not checking email: I'm off!!!

10. What's the nicest thing you've ever heard someone say about you?
My father in law told me that he was so happy when his son married me - he knew I was in it for life, he thought I was the best mother he's ever known, he never has to worry about his grandchildren - he knows we always put them first and take care of them, that I'm smart and kind. I thought he was pretty amazing too and when I'm having a bad moment, I think of that speech. It carries me.

1. What are your grandparents' first names?
Now, if you had to pick one of those to name your child (or have as your name), which do you choose, and why? Troy and Mattie. I gave my son Troy as a middle name.

2. What ridiculous thing did someone trick you into believing/doing when you were a kid? I've always been a questioner so I didn't fall for much as a kid. 3. What movie would you like to see redone as a musical? I like my musicals like I like my coffee....I don't like coffee.

4. If horses could talk, what would they say? Wilbur!

5. What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?Cell phones.

6. If you were arrested without explanation, what would your family and friends assume you had done? That is an interesting question. I can't think of anything right now..lol

7. What's something you think you'd be good at teaching someone else? Firearms instruction.

8. When you're attracted to someone, what's the first thing you notice about him/her? Eyes. Always the eyes.

John, Viola, Roy, Frieda
Now, if you had to pick one of those to name your child (or have as your name), which do you choose, and why?

Not much of a musical fan

4. If horses could talk, what would they say?

"Run! Eat! Breathe!"

5. What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?

Robot weiners (my family's name for vape stuff). They all smell like moldy fruit to me, and make me feel sick.

7. What's something you think you'd be good at teaching someone else?

8. When you're attracted to someone, what's the first thing you notice about him/her?

Eyes

I like the name Beryl. Beulah is a beautiful name, too. I think this particular question would make a cool thread. Great-grandparents' names, too. It is interesting to hear the unusual and non-contemporary names.

I didn't really make the comment about compliments to be taken as me thinking that I didn't get as many as I deserved. Just meant that most people around here don't really pass them out all willy nilly. Clients compliment me by continuing to sit in my chair, co workers compliment me by asking my advice, friends and family compliment me by making sure I'm okay before they start laughing when I fall down, etc...... My daughter recently said I was the best Mom, so I went with that.

Beryl and Beulah were my dad's parents. I never knew Beryl enough to call him Grandad....He and Grandma were long divorced by the time I was born. I have one picture of him holding me when I was about a year old, but other than that, I didn't know him. I know lots of stories about him......but that's another thread

Catching up now!

1. What's cool about where you live? Lots of stuff. Close to the mountains and the beach. Close to a few amusement parks (Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens/Water Country) A craft brewery every where you turn around. Lots of cool places to eat. I kinda like it here.

2. Favorite beverage in the summer? What about in winter. Cold beer in the hot summertime. A nice mulled wine in the wintertime.

3. What do you like on your baked potato? Butter, sour cream, Tony's seasoning at minimum. Bacon pieces and shredded cheese are a plus.

4. Which The Breakfast Club character are you most like? Sadly, probably the Basket Case.

5. Creepshow has five stories: "Father's Day", "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill", "Something to Tide You Over", "The Crate", and "They're Creeping Up on You". Which is your favorite? They were all so good. Probably The Crate ties with Jordy Verrill. Meteor Shyte just cracks me up.

6. What's your favorite magazine? (It can be hard copy or digital.) Entertainment Weekly.

7. How many chicken would it take to kill an elephant? While I'm not sure that chickens are pacifists (I have been chased by a few!) I still don't see them killing an elephant. I think they would get along fine.

8. Shower/bath in the morning or evening? Shower in the morning during weekdays. Shower after chores/exercising is done on weekends.

9. When's the last time you literally laughed out loud? Today.

10. Who is your favorite all time female and male actor? I have a hard time picking just one favorite. I love Robert Duvall, Sam Elliot, Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp, etc. Ladies - Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, so many.

* Bonus question.

When did you screw everything up, but no one found out it was you? I can't think of anything. Like others have said, I get found out when I mess up.

:)

Thank you!

Would danie or @do1you9love want to try the survey next week?
