I guess I will start: (p.s. I would have had these on here around 10 a.m. but I could not get onto the SKMB site!) :shame_pig:

1. What are the chances of you and your friend/family members ever attending a King Kong?

We are planning to fly in to Colorado next summer and even if we cannot stay at the Overlook (aka the Stanley Hotel) we might try to find accommodation nearby. Someone told us (someone who worked there) that the YMCA Rocky Mountain is supposed to be good :question_pig:

2. Do you use coupons at the grocery store/fast food restaurant etc.?

Yes I have occasionally, but never in the Express lane as people are in a rush and I don't like to upset other shoppers.

3. Did you ever get mad/upset with a noisy child to the point where you spoke to the parents about it (i.e. in a public place like a movie theatre/restaurant)?

There have been times I wanted to say something to a parent, and yes, once I did turn around and politely ask the father of a little girl if she could please stop kicking the back of my chair :biggrin2: (at a movie theatre).

4. Tell us about your worst/best travel experience.

Best one - going to the wedding of my oldest son at a resort near Cancun - worst one would be my long range trainer with the military (got to see lots of countries but lost 10 pounds due to some terrible gastrointestinal disorder).

5. If you work, are you happy at your place of employment and if so, how long do you think you will continue to work there?

It is okay (I used to say I loved it for the first five years, but I realize now it is bad for my health to sit for 8 hours a day. I will probably try to retire in two years if I can afford it.

6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met?

I think I would share it with my immediate and extended family, if it was a large lottery. I would give some to charity - something in the local area like a food bank/Salvation Army/homeless shelter/women's shelter.

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a.

Yeah I do actually have one, but I have taken the number of 'friends' down to about 69 I think and almost every person on there is someone I know. I would delete it, if my son from Edmonton was not on there! Since being on SKMB I hardly ever go on there now.

8. What kind of undies do you wear? Knickers for those who are in NZ, Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland etc.

:a11: I now wear those cotton type - more comfortable and breathable. I would say that in the past I was more daring, but I am older (and fatter!) now :a11:

9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding?

Small wedding (maybe 65 or 70 people and we just celebrated our 10th anniversary

10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is?

I think he is definitely an optimist and believes that humans are basically good at heart (even though he can write the best horror stories in the world!)

Thanks for playing! Now go outside and get a breath of fresh air! :byebye:

1. What are the chances of you and your friend/family members ever attending a King Kong?
If it comes nearby (i.e., if it is in CO), there's a high likelihood :) Far away...depends on finances, to be honest.

2. Do you use coupons at the grocery store/fast food restaurant etc.?
Rarely at the grocery store (I buy mainly fresh food and bulk, and the rest is generally store brands, with a few exceptions). Fast food-never

3. Did you ever get mad/upset with a noisy child to the point where you spoke to the parents about it (i.e. in a public place like a movie theatre/restaurant)?
I've spoken directly to the kid, at times. And I pulled two boys away from each other and told them how disrespectful they were being when they were wrestling in front of the altar at church--No lie! The parents sat there and did NOTHING. Ridiculous.

4. Tell us about your worst/best travel experience.
Best: Trip to Boston. A history nerd's dream :) Portland was a HUGE amount of fun, too. Worst: to WY for a funeral--we got hit by a truck running a red light. Missed the funeral because we were in the hospital, husband was out of work for almost a year. And it happened on my dad's birthday--he was right across the street and saw the whole thing. Two good things came out of it: 1) BH found out he had extremely high blood pressure. He likely wouldn't be here now if he hadn't been in the accident. 2) I met a cousin I didn't know I had! The EMT was talking to me as he was loading me in the ambulance, and asked why we were in town. I told him it was for my great grandma's funeral. He asked her name, then smiled: "Pleased to meet you. I'm your cousin Curly." LOL

5. If you work, are you happy at your place of employment and if so, how long do you think you will continue to work there?
I hope forever ( I work at home, or wherever I can write) :)

6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met?
I'd wish to do both, if the lottery win was big enough. If it wasn't enormous, family would come first.

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a.
Nah. I've done it before and didn't even die.

8. What kind of undies do you wear? Knickers for those who are in NZ, Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland etc.
Cotton, preferably

9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding?
25 years next month! It was medium, I guess. I honestly can't remember how many were invited (old age brain--lol), but my family alone is pretty big--my mom has 7 brothers and sisters, with spouses & kids, grand parents, great grandparents, work and school friends, etc. Over 100, anyway.

10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is?
Optimistic realist. There are the dark pessimistic stories, but they're far outweighed by those that recognize people for what they and for what they can be.

Week of Sunday July 26, 2015 to August 1, 2015

1. What are the chances of you and your friend/family members ever attending a King Kong? Small unless it comes close to Arkansas. Not as much vacation time built up since I switched jobs so that is a definite factor.

2. Do you use coupons at the grocery store/fast food restaurant etc.? Do guys do this?:)

3. Did you ever get mad/upset with a noisy child to the point where you spoke to the parents about it (i.e. in a public place like a movie theatre/restaurant)? Nah, I feel bad for folks with a crying kid having been in that situation myself a couple of times.

4. Tell us about your worst/best travel experience. In 2003 my wife and I took a two week vacation and drove up to Devil's Tower in Wyoming. We then drove southwest thru Wyoming into Colorado and came back thru Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, CO. We toured the Stanley House and stayed in Estes Park for a couple of days. Overall, it was quite possibly the most enjoyable two week vacation I've ever had. We still talk about it.
Worst travel experience would probably be the conference I drove to a few years ago and didn't realize I had somehow managed to not pack any pants. I still don't know how I managed to do this. I also didn't realize it until the next morning when i was getting ready for the conference.....did I mention I was making a Powerpoint presentation at said conference? I wore a pair of sweats and t-shirt while we were driving to the conference so I ended up wearing the same sweats, a very nice pressed Polo shirt and my dress shoes. either no one noticed or no on cared but I caught PLENTY of hell from the guys I went with...

5. If you work, are you happy at your place of employment and if so, how long do you think you will continue to work there? This is a weird question just having changed jobs after almost 18 years in law enforcement. I don't mind the job I'm doing now, the hours are a lot better for sure. To be honest though, I miss my former co-workers a lot worse than I thought I would. I still have about 6-7 of the guys who text and call me quite a bit so I know its a two way street. They still send me derogatory texts about my mother, invite me to get togethers, etc. I usually don't attend because one thing we all use to say was you either work for the PD or you don't. I'm on the other side of that now and it's weird.

6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met? Give most of it to charity after I'm done. My family is pretty much a train wreck...lol

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a. No Facebook account, not now, not ever.

8. What kind of undies do you wear? Knickers for those who are in NZ, Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland etc. Just plain old boxer shorts.

9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding? 20 years next month. Small wedding with just a few friends, I had one length hair more than half way down my back in my wedding pics...hard to imagine now that I keep a buzz cut for the most part...lol

10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is? I would have to say he's neither, just more of a realist. The good guy doesn't always win is a re-occurring theme in a lot of his books and that is about as real as life gets. I couldn't make a statement on Mr. King's state of humanity, don't know him well enough. He sure is good to his fans, I can definitely say that.

This week's survey:

Week of Sunday July 26, 2015 to August 1, 2015

1. What are the chances of you and your friend/family members ever attending a King Kong?

I'm going to assume that means an SK meet up...and I'd love to, but unfortunately I don't get the opportunity to travel often.

2. Do you use coupons at the grocery store/fast food restaurant etc.?

Usually only for beauty products (makeup/razors/etc).

3. Did you ever get mad/upset with a noisy child to the point where you spoke to the parents about it (i.e. in a public place like a movie theatre/restaurant)?

No. My child would more than likely be the noisy one (he has autism and possibly Tourette's and it has become increasingly difficult to take him places) but when he starts becoming disruptive we remove him from the situation immediately.

4. Tell us about your worst/best travel experience.

Best travel experience: trip to Vegas with girlfriends, best parts were Price is Right show and a Stripper 101 class (I'm not much of a gambler).

Worst travel experience: I can't remember any terrible travel experiences.

5. If you work, are you happy at your place of employment and if so, how long do you think you will continue to work there?

I've been a stay at home mom for 18 years. Didn't plan it that way, but it works for our family.

6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met?

Make sure my family's needs are met, then share with friends, then donate some to charity.

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a.

I would. All of my family and most of my dearest friends still live in the city where I grew up. I don't get to see them often, so facebook is a really good way for us to keep up with everyone.

8. What kind of undies do you wear? Knickers for those who are in NZ, Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland etc.

Mostly lace "cheeky" panties. I don't know how else to describe the style.

9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding?

Married going on 17 years, together almost 21 years.
We had just about the smallest wedding possible (me, hubby, our daughter, justice of the peace and my parents). We didn't know we were getting married that day until a few hours before the ceremony (long story lol).

10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is?

I like ghost19's answer.

Hi not_nadine :cheerful::pat:

This week's survey:

Week of Sunday July 26, 2015 to August 1, 2015

1. What are the chances of you and your friend/family members ever attending a King Kong? We'd need a long-time heads-up so my wife could put in for time but since they moved her to part-time, she lost some vacation time, too. Helps if it is somewhere we never been...Maine, never been...Colorado, been there, nice place, we'd go again.

2. Do you use coupons at the grocery store/fast food restaurant etc.? yes, both...but not very often...I watch the sales flyer, let that be my guide...if a coupon shows in the mail, Burger King, Hardees...McDonalds...I'll throw it on the visor of the truck and if the stars are in alignment and there isn't somebody chomping on my bumper where I got to turn, I'll pull in. Last time that happened, the clerk charged me double...or something...figured, here's a live one, cha-ching! I let him do so...and when I went in again...he looked guilty 'cause I gave him a happy happy smile...and lo and behold, I got the same stuff (buying for the help, too) for about half or less what the coupon brought me. Go figure.

3. Did you ever get mad/upset with a noisy child to the point where you spoke to the parents about it (i.e. in a public place like a movie theatre/restaurant)? never have, no.

4. Tell us about your worst/best travel experience. broke a tie-rod, Toledo area, rush-hour traffic, 6" of slush on the road, helped me get over, jumped a fence, made some calls...this was before cell phones...another time, brakes went, south of Milwaukee, Racine...these things never happen close to home. best is any vacation, at all...vacations are the bestest...anywhere, anyplace, anytime.

5. If you work, are you happy at your place of employment and if so, how long do you think you will continue to work there? yeah...I like what I do...if digging a ditch makes you happy, Walter, dig it...said Ramon Diaz, long ago and far away...and I'm guessing I'll die on the job as I can't see retiring, ever, maybe slow down some, 6-hour days maybe, 'stead of allatime...don't have the fabled stock-portfolio so I'll do what I can I guess go from there.

6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met? share it I imagine...charity begins at home.

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a. no...haven't checked in there in months and I think if you don't do that for, what? six months? it is kapooot? I could take it or leave it, no matter.

8. What kind of undies do you wear? Knickers for those who are in NZ, Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland etc. clean ones. :) the boys don't like to be in an uproar.

9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding? coming up on 19 years...we met on the 19th...August. small wedding, got married out on the big lake, shoreline area...had a great day, weather.

10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is? I think he's some of both, depends on the situation.

That's all, folks!

I love my work.. but it takes it toll on your emotions, so I took an extended LOA .. (Hospice)
6. Pick one (if you had a choice) - win the lottery and share it with family/friends or give most of it to charity once all your most important needs are met?

7. Would you find it hard to delete your Facebook account? If you don't have an account, skip this question or write n/a.
I would not delete my facebook account.. My oldest son set it up for me before he went off to college.. and now he is a Captain in the Air Force and married and lives in D.C. .. my youngest are going off to college.. so no, it is how I keep in touch with them all on a daily basis.

The kind you put on under your clothes
9. If you are married, how long has it been and did you have a small or large wedding?
I have been married 18 years.. it was a small church wedding. (My big wedding was my first one.. was married 10 years.)
10. Do you think Stephen King is an optimist or a pessimist and what do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is?
I wouldn't know what he believes... but if you went by his fans (because we all seem to connect in some form...) I would say he is an optimist and that people in general are good.

"I couldn't make a statement on Mr. King's state of humanity, don't know him well enough."

Actually the question was "What do you suppose his take on the state of humanity is"? but I think you have already answered that. Maybe I should have just stopped at "optimist or pessimist?"
:hmm:
