Mmm, I love peanut butter on celery. You put some raisins on it, and the kids called it "ants on a log." But not for supper.

I made some tilapia simmered in pineapple sauce and peach vodka, sprinkled with cilantro, garlic, and a blackening spice. They shared the skillet with some fresh vegetables. Served up with a chilled chardonnay. Grandma approved.

The simpler the better. As close to the source as you can take it. Haute cuisine with the fancy de rigeur elements of the day--and definitely those "Chefs" that do chemical foams--are a NO.

^ Vendange is kinda dodgy, in my experience. The Cab is usually ok, but I've had some crappy 1.5L Chards.

This is true - add some white onion, celery, fresh mushrooms, green pepper etc. It just has a bit too much sodium so I try to drink extra water or tea when I have it.

We're doing the fried chicken tomorrow (cursed stuff! I hate making it--it always pops & burns me somewhere), but will probably have homemade mac & cheese and "buttery salty corn" (the kids' description & their favorite--I'll be having a salad).

Tonight was pizza from our favorite local pizza joint. We rarely order out pizza (too easy to make), but when we do, it's from this place. Sadly, they're closing next week--can't compete with the greasy, nasty chains when people are just looking for price, not quality.
