I just finished Voyager by Diana Gabaldon, which was amazing and my favorite one so far of the series. I'm now on her Lord John Grey prequel series, I'm reading her first one, Lord John Grey and the Private Matter, and also reading Lord John Grey and the Hands of the Devil, which is basically three novellas in one book.

I also want to start reading the Deadpool comics, LOL, after hearing great things about the trailer at Comic-Con.

Nicely put! You're correct, of course. I wish there was a category for 'Opinion', as these are labelled/marketed as 'Non Fiction'.
What irritates me is when they clump all "Non Fiction" together. It is really tiring to sort out the ones i am interested in (history mostly) when economy books about how to get rich fast and all the other non fiction varieties.

Cannery Row - John Steinbeck

I read it a couple of eons ago and just found my old paperback and decided to read it again. This paperback is from the seventies with yellow pages, small print and a funky smell. I noticed on the inside cover there is a stamp from where I bought this book. I bought it in 1979 at a used book store in Colorado called The Book Exchange. So, just for kicks I googled the store and found out that it's still there! The store has the same phone number as the one stamped in my book but the address is a few doors down from where it was but in the same shopping center.

Somehow i never enjoyed them. I read the three first books and then i gave up on the series. I started because i wanted to know what all the fuzz was about. I'm still fogged about that. They arent bad but far from great. IMO
Well, for one thing, they were written for a "tween" readership. I'm not finding them boring - they're charming in their own way. Maybe you're not into reading books that were intended for 12-year-olds. (I'm not really, either, but I am working on a Young Adult piece at the moment and wanted some inspiration.)

The first three were skewed toward the elementary market; it's when she hit the 4th book and they aged up that they really hit their stride. 4 and 7 are my favorites.

Nice! HP is really more late element./MG than YA, though it edges toward that in the 7th book. Are you looking for YA fantasy?
