Today I am splitting my efforts between 2 tasks. First, I'm still grinding on the futuristic dystopian sci-fi page-turner I dug out of a drawer for the Patterson competition. I can't enter, but I got such good work done on it that I'm determined to get it published. I plan to query agents to try and get picked up properly. If that happens, look for books by Jeannie Depp in stores near you. Holla! If not, I'll publish on my own imprint like I did for History Fair.

The other thing I'm doing today is dusting off my graphic novel. It's timely at this point, and I'm as passionate as ever about getting that out there. It's a TON of work, at least a hundred pages, with multiple drawings on each, comic style. With original art in between the chapters in varied styles. Oils, pencil sketches, trash polka, pen and ink, etc. It's frustrating because my Wacom Bamboo tablet, one of the few things to survive the fire, is buried in storage.
It's a touch-sensitive surface I plug into the computer so I can draw directly into the computer by way of an art program like Photoshop.

I've got a sketch book handy, but it's SO much handier to be able to draw right into the computer. Scanning drawings in leaves artifacts, shadows, etc, from the paper. Drawing on a tablet like that gives me a pristine white background and clean lines.

Boring, I know. But it's what I'm up to.
:fox:

I got a second lease on life by finding out I don't have cancer, and I'm more driven than ever to make something happen. So wish me luck. And pour me lots of coffee.

I have to freeze fruit. I looked it up, seems it can be done. Apples of many colors , Pears and grapes.

Has anyone done it? I saw one that just said to chop and put in salty ice water.. I went out and got the freezer bags.
Skin on or off? It's going to have to be skin on - nobody's got time for that. :)

Went and watched my two eldest powerlifting meet. Caught myself wondering if I looked like a 10 lb sausage in a 5 lb bag like the majority of the kids up there... I also realized my son could literally bench press me with little to no effort. I mean, I knew it subconsciously, but watching him lift 550 like it was nothing kinda made me feel...old. And wimpy. :ambivalence:

Yep, just put it in the bag and pop it in the freezer. Thaw in the sink when ready to eat
Yum!

Found a mouse in the house yesterday. Set traps last night. Found one little fellow that succumbed to the peanut butter in the traps. I was too scared to remove the mouse from the trap so I picked it up with a big long shovel and threw the trap away. Found out that my screams are higher pitched than my wife's. I think I'll spend the rest of the day searching for my manhood.

I'm really sorry that happened to you Mal but your telling of the story really did make me LOL
