Aw, cool, I like snakes. Don't have coral snakes out here, at least not that many I don't think. Lots of rattle snakes though, especially where I used to live in southern Arkansas.
Used to have a dog with what my daughter called "snake-dar". Would be taking walks, and he'd go stiff. Sure sign to turn around, quietly and slowly.
When I first moved here in 1969, had a Fl panther on the land. Magnificent animal.

I'm on 10a of wooded land, just cleared around the home front. You name it, I have it. There is sign in the sky, and invisible to humans, "all critters welcome- free room and board". The only ones I fear are the rattle and coral snakes.

We have coral snakes where I live, but thankfully not rattlers. Those things terrify me. You guys ever seen a two-headed snake? I saw one in the road when I was walking to school years ago. Creepy as heck.

Just came from having two large mugs of flat white coffee and a cake. I think I'm getting diabetes. The staff were real busy, I was sitting watching them, I couldn't do what they did, they were rushing around making the food, making the coffees, collecting the money and giving change, taking the food to the patrons. I would get mixed up who's food is who's etc. The was a large gentleman who ordered 'The big breakfast': bacon and eggs, two sausages, two slices of toast, fried tomato, fried potato or chips, baked beans. Then once he finished that( took him less time than it did to finish my first coffee) he orderd two cakes. It is important to have some 'fats' in your diet. I think as people get older they believe that they have to always eat foods that have no fat it them. I think eating some sought of seafood like fish or even a can of sardines twice a week is good for the brain. I notice about two days after eating seafood my mind is more lucid.

Fish is supposed to be really good for you; it has the "right" kind of fat. There was this place I liked to go to for lunch that was about 15 minutes drive from my office. The grilled fish there was delicious. Then one day there was a gas leak and it blew up. :flat:
But as odd as it sounds, my memory was much sharper when I frequently ate fish.

So I got a yucky copy of the book called, something fearless or something, it is the one where they toke a bunch of king interviews and published a book, it was written in the 1980's and was wondering how creditable it was or if it is full of poop

Fear Itself: I bought a copy of this back when I was in secondary school. It's a collection of essays by then-mainstream literary and film critics about the works of Stephen King, who had exploded in popularity back in the mid-80s. I distinctly recall that Pauline Kael did not much care for our beloved Master of Horror back in the day.

I watched the dead zone last night, I am torn about it, I am trying to decided if. I like the book more then the movie, I am not shure it is a huge great adaptation of the book. Lots of good Canadian actors in it. I am not shure why jhonnys parents look d to be like 90 in it, and while looking at his mom all I could see was aunt hetti from road to avenlea. Lol but it did have some really great moments. I wish they whould have put more examples of how evil greg stillstion is ie his other stuff, they could have done all that while Johnny was in his coma, and recovering. Perhaps it's when it was made, ie early 80's

Hey, I did! On Friday. For the next couple of sales at least I decided to take pictures of my haul. I was wondering if I post pictures whether they would be best here or in the bookstore and thrift sale thread.

On Saturday met a friend at the theater to see A Dog's Purpose.
How was the movie? I haven't seen it yet - I hope it was good!~

Fl is known for them. I have an old mama that will coo and knock at the front door. "I am here, any scraps".
They can be destructive, especially the younger ones. I have to grow my veggies in an enclosed dog run. They steal plants, statues, take flowers out of the pots. Had a land line phone man come once- he put his equipment down to go and ck the rd connection. I suggested that was not a good idea. Upon return, his meter was gone. A few summers later I found it in the deep woods.
Poor raccoon was probably just checking the radiation levels after reading "The Tommyknockers"

Try taking some omega 3 capsules Mr. Cranky - just don't overdo it or you'll be running to the "loo" a bit too often :a11:

I don't recall the book containing much biographical information about the Kings. You may want to check On Writing, or there are some documentaries about him that can be seen on YouTube.

Today is new phone day. My daughter is more excited about it than I am. She's saved enough money to get the new iPhone.
Every week for the last two months, she's asked me to call and ask if it's time. So today, I did what any good parent would do.
I sent her a text that said "Well, I called the phone company, and they said........"
Then I waited a full two minutes before sending the text saying "Today's the day"! :D

I've doing some scanning, I'm trying to work out how to crop the pictures properly. I've also been trying to find the pictures of my graduation from Harvard when I got my PhD in quantum theory when I was 16. I've also wrote out an algorithm in the last ten minutes that can calculate (with an accuracy of = or - , 2%) that future events for the next 24 hours.

Grocery shopping, cleaning, then my SIL's surprise 50th birthday party. It was about as uncomfortable as I expected it would be. After cake, my husband's sister brought her granddaughter over for their mom to cuddle, and the thought passed through my mind, "That's more affection in one minute than they showed any of our kids in their entire lives." Surprised myself into tears. It's not that their attention is necessarily a good thing--3 of 4 nieces/nephews from that side are utterly screwed up--but sometimes I get kamikaze sad bombed for our kids.

Meh. Mark made delicious drunken lemonade and al pastor tacos when we got home and then watched Snowpiercer with me, so the day ended better.

Just read this post and wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth. How awful! You must have had that sad, sickly and angry feeling
in the pit of your stomach on the way home and your husband, bless his heart, ended the day on a good note. The situation
wreaks of just plain jealously on their part. Both of you obviously have done a great job raising your family.

I am really torn with one, some great moments.. I think I watched the movie to soon after reading the book, I may need to stop that.. I think it is making me question the movie more and may be affecting my enjoyment of the movie. Lots of great Canadian characters, like the lady who played aunt hetti and the lady who played Marcella in Ann of green gables. And frank dodd
