over the weekend i cut up about 75 quarts of red and green tomatoes, made 7 quarts of green tomato pickles & a bunch of salsa several batches. completed one estimate emailed that to customer, customer musta called last night after i hit the sack wants to go with option two, aristoclass. cleaned up the garage. when i do this on a weekday i feel like i'm cutting class or something, like i should be doing work work instead of homework. sorted through piles of scrap aluminum, extruded painted and unpainted, sheet aluminum, other. fetched the compact flash from my game camera, downloaded those pics. read. today i make some repairs to another old mining house, corner of the porch where rot and carpenter ants have been left unattended. caught the iowa north dakota game or part of it while taking a break. north dakota upset iowa in the final five seconds of play. at iowa. thunderstorm woke me about four in the morning, non-stop lightening, thought oh well, looks like a rainy monday but it has passed and the five-day forecast looks good. work. all weather-permitting. looking forward to things slowing up, time in a tree, no phone, quiet. happy monday!

Right now, I am watching The Octonauts with my little charge. It is adorable listening to his commentary.
The Octonauts are stuck on an ice sheet, tension is high. Orcas are helping them. And my little guy is saying, "Oh no!", eyes big, hugging my side with every cliff hanging moment!

After work, I drove around looking for a station that still has gas. Drove around for about twenty minutes, finally found the one gas station in town that still had an open pump....in fact, they had two. Waited in line for thirty minutes before I could fill up. I was about fifteenth in line. They shut the pumps down after the car behind me filled up. There is currently no gas available in Boone, NC.
