On Sunday night I started having a few beers at 5pm. At 7:30, I watched a show on TV called 'River Monsters', which I don't mind. In this episode, the presenter was in America chasing the mysterious 'Sea Lamprey', the vampire of the sea. After that I watched a show called 'Dead Famous DNA' where the presenter suggested that Eva Braun was of Jewish heritage. At 8:30, I watched the worst movie I have ever seen, it was called Red Dawn. It's racist. It's vulgar. How come America had to import an actor like Hemsworth when there would be a million meat-heads just like him in America who could do a better job. I also would like to apologise to the lady on SKMB a few weeks back. I was a bit flippant, and you were right about my appalling use of grammar and punctuation.

I actually don't want to say the worst movie I've ever seen because I don't want attract anyone else to go see it. And I can't say I "saw" it because I went fast-forwarding looking for a bit of human or cinematic redemption. There was none. I think I continued with it because the premise was a possible "so bad that it's enjoyable" theme. But it wasn't. And I felt like I had sacrificed a part of my life and my soul by not having given up on it after five minutes, max.

And that's odd, because if a movie isn't impressing me, it's easy to turn off. I've done that any number of times. Why I stayed with this one, even in limited fashion, is beyond me and frankly embarrassing.

Arlington Road made me hate it. Let's take a well-crafted movie and then have an ending of the slaughter of innocents and the triumph of evil. Um, no. Sorry if I spoiled it. No, that's a lie. Now you know what to expect.

I know the Troma movies make a lot of people laugh, but I can't stomach them. And it's not like I'm completely squeamish. I loved Re-Animator and An American Werewolf in London, which were pretty gory. But Troma is just plain stupid brutality to me.

While I could name many low budget, indie, B-movie type flicks I don't think that is fair. So I am going to go with a movie that is big budget, with a well-known cast and supposed to be a "classic." That movie is...

The Sound of Music

For me, this is the worst movie I have EVER seen.

I don't see anything behind your spoiler, CYB.

Ayup! I just can't suspend my disbelief enough that one can go dancing and singing thru the Alps while Germans are chasing you, wanting to kill you and your family.....
