...it's raining and gloomy here today in Giantville, and maybe that's why I'm in somewhat of a melancholy mood. I ask the above question because so many of my old friends from the previous incarnation of the Board have never returned since the "switch"...folks have told me they migrated to Facebook, and that's fine-but it still hurts my heart that they don't drop by...some do infrequently, others not at all...most of my other family are here, present and accounted for-but still, I miss the likes of Srbo, PatriciaA, TennGolfer, Evil Queen and more...it's their life and their right-but I guess I just wanted to go on record as saying I miss them, and also how I treasure my friends here. It's a dark day, when I don't get the chance to let the light of your hearts illuminate my screen...thank you for befriending me and making my life much more fun and blessed....
It was great meeting you and others this past summer - the board evolves (or so it seems).

I did notice there were SO many people joining in the last six months or so. Some sign up but are never heard from again and others carry on.

I guess it is a day to day thing. It's great to come here and I appreciate all the fine folks on here - it makes my day to read the posts, listen to others and from time to time spout off, myself.

My time to be here has been much more limited since Brandon and RJ moved home. You all keep me feeling like a real person, help me to step away from my mom/grandma/maid/cook mode and help keep me sane enough to do those jobs well. I love you all. Thank you for letting me be a part of this wonderful family.

Transitions are the way of the world. Arrivals and departures. Some are hard to take, but they go on regardless. I got some bad news about a friend yesterday. He died of a heart attack. Aside from the loss and pain within our shared community and his other loved ones (I was friends, professionally, with his wife as well), it brought up memories of my own brush with it and how fleeting this all is sometimes.

You've got a really good heart, Scott.

...thank you Gpa, coming from you-that is praise in the highest regard....my thoughts are with you as well, as you deal with the brush with eternity-and the loss of a friend...the good ones are here all too fleetingly...

Have really been missing Kurben's posts. Is he still on holiday?

Since we're being all positive now, I must mention that I had written a story with archaeological references. I was feeling insecure about those. Kurben was kind enough to read the story and give me his input on it. (Let me tell you, as a story writer, people are interested in what you write, but it's another thing for them to actually read it and give you their thoughts.) He was one very cool, gracious guy about that, and I am very appreciative.

I freakin' love this board and the people on it.
