'Hi, my name is Geminii23 and I'm a king-a-holic.' ;-D You're on your way to attaining a great collection!!

Hey everyone...I am here today because...well, I need an intervention. I can't stop. I know it is a problem. My kids have been eating Ramen noodles all month. I told my wife she needs to walk to work now so I can save money for the rest of the Double Day years CD Limited Editions. I want to stop. I think. But...well I just can't. I am so close. Well, I thought I was...but then I started thinking...maybe if I sell our furniture I can afford that authentic signed edition...maybe.

Do you frequent thrift stores or used bookstores in your area? You would be amazed at what you might find. I have found two autographed Stephen King hardbacks at these kind of places (and yes, they're really his siggy). One was Bag Of Bones and the other was Insomnia. Both were in perfect condition. Good luck in your quest!

I can honestly say that at my advanced age I have never eaten Top Ramen. Ever. EVER.....

That is awesome! Unfortunately I live in a very small town now. Not much of anything. So I have been just getting everything off eBay. Which is sometimes hit or miss. But I definitely need to venture out and see if any surrounding areas have any good spots.

Please check out thriftbooks.com I have purchased a lot of books thru them and have been mostly satisfied with the books. Shipping is free on purchases over $10 and you can set up a 'wish list' and they will send you an email when a book from your list comes in. And, if you join their buying club (it's free) after you spend $50 they'll send you a $5 off code towards your next purchase. I have been able to get a few rare books this way that otherwise I wouldn't have been able to find elsewhere. Prices are right around $4.00 for both hardbacks and paperbacks. They ship them out in plastic bags tho, so sometimes you might end up with a bumped corner.

Plastic bags you say?

Inner thoughts:

"Rare Signed 1st Edition of the Dead Zone hardcover...only $10 bucks...Very Good condition...minor shelf wear...Heck yeah!"

Me...sitting at my computer...patiently waiting. Looking out the window....Wait some more...Is that the USPS truck pulling up?
Checking the window again...There it is at the neighbor's house!

Beads of sweat form as I try to get my shoes on. Shoe lace snaps. Who cares...just keep moving. Out the door.

Running down the steps thinking "Why the heck did I rent a house with this God forsaken rickety porch with so many steps?"

The driveway...I can make it. Gaining speed. Near full sprint.

"Has this driveway always been this long?"

The USPS approaches the mail box...the driver thumbs through his tub. There it is. A glistening white plastic bag.
I am almost there...I can make it.

What the hell?

"How many times have I told my son not to leave his bike in the damn driveway?!"

How many extra steps to go around it? Four? Five? Better yet...can I jump it? I can make it - I can't dunk a basketball...but it's an over turned bike. That's nothing! I can clear it!

The mail man looks at me. Then the bag. But that look...is that a smile? A smirk? Or something more sinister?

No time to think anymore...I gotta leap. Gotta clear this damn bike with one single agile move that I know I can make. I know it!

He opens the mailbox. That damn smirk!

Everything feels like it is moving in slow motion...me screaming "Waaaaaaaaiiiiiiittt-"

I know it before I even feel the snap. The shoe lace...not the broken one...the other side...the long one twirling behind my foot as I make the desperate leap. That damn shoelace - And what is with that stupid grin on his face!

Like some evil serpent hell bent on biting my ankle...like an damned expert archer making the kill shot, the lace grabs hold of the sprocket and chain assembly of the bike.

Normally I wouldn't even care. If the damn shoe just came off with it. But that isn't what happens. Not this time.
Faceplate right onto the pavement.

The mailman slams the beautiful white bag into the mailbox. Chuckling like some deranged lunatic as he speeds off to the next house.

"Did we give him a Christmas card this year? I could've sworn we did. I am sure of it."

I collect myself the best I can. No sense in trying to un-wedge the shoelace. Just get my damn foot out of this shoe and get to the mailbox.

Just breathe. It'll be fine.
I open the mailbox. Afraid to look. I just reach in. Feel the plastic. The book inside.
Just a soft tug at first. No...what the hell?

"How the heck did he even fit this thing in here?!"

Just tug it a bit more. Carefu...DAMNIT!

The package rips free. White plastic strips remain a mangled mess in the crevices of the mailbox.

No sense in waiting to get in the house. Just open it now. Maybe it's...not-

Beat...to...heck.

Sigh.

"So much for Very Good condition....Why the hell didn't I just get those stupid looking velcro shoes last week."

It was a long wait but very worth it!This arrived from Cemetary Dance today! (I really need to stop opening emails fom them!)

Looks awesome! I actually ordered one from PS Publishing website cause they were no longer available from Cemetery Dance. So mine probably isn't signed and numbered unfortunately. But their description was that it is the 30th Anniversary with that same slipcase in the photos. Either way, I am sure I will be happy just to have one!

Yours should be signed and numbered. I don't think they made a version that wasn't signed/numbered. Of course, it's not signed by King, but still....

Out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to receive it from the time you ordered? I placed my order for that one from Ps Publishing on 1/12. But we are all snowed in out here, so I wasn't expecting it this weekend anyway.
