The weekend before last, a group of us went to a local craft beer festival here in Southern Illinois. 50 or so booths, serving up 200+ beers. Needless to say, it was a good time. One of the last booths belonged to Tommyknocker Brewery. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to that booth, however, I did get to try Gunslinger Double IPA. Awesome name, and a good beer as well.
I went to the local used bookstore yesterday and the owner said he had a book I'd be interested in. It was a book club edition of The Stand. The unextended version. The Dust Cover is in great condition, no tears or creases and all the pages look to be intact.
I found a book club version of The Stand(original version) at Goodwill one day. I felt extremely lucky to have found it. Also grabbed up a hardcover or Christine for free because they were having "buy one, get one."
Just went to Barnes & Noble and picked up my two copies of Bazaar of Bad Dreams (one for reading and one for my collection.) Price for each, after all my discounts, was $15.12. Also grabbed a copy of Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)'s newest, Career of Evil.

I really enjoyed the first two! I far prefer her Strike novels to The Casual Vacancy.
Out of curiosity, are the post-Potter books from Rowling fairly successful? I know they obviously don't sell as much as her famous series, but do they nevertheless sell close to a million each, or anything like that?
I absolutely hated The Casual Vacancy. I didn't like any of the characters whatsoever.

I don't think they have been even half as successful as the Potter books. They just don't have the same "magic" in them.

Agreed. I have a rude description for books like that: Well-Off White People Behaving Badly and Being Filled With Ennui stories. Despise them. I know the Strike novels haven't been as successful as Harry Potter (not many books have been), but they're darned good stories about interesting characters! I'm not a huge mystery reader, and I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books.
Had to get out of the house today so went and picked up The Bazaar Of Bad Dreams. For the last 25 years I have made it a point to buy King's books on release day.
I likewise purchased the book today. I am very excited to read it. Will start hopefully this evening. Does anyone else sometimes get more excited for a story collection as opposed to a novel? There's just something about a collection.
And at 495 pages, it's got a nice hefty page count.
I'm going to set it aside for now tho as I'm not in the right state of mind to lose myself in those tales. I've read the first new one (Premium Harmony) and it hits a little too close to home right now. 
So, this book will have to wait for a little while till things settle down.I ordered Bazaar of Bad Dreams back in May when chapters was having an online sale where everything was half off. Picked it up as well as Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers. I'll go pick up Bazaar from the store tomorrow.

I just picked up Bazaar. This is the first time I've ever owned a Stephen King book at release.
I purchased my copy of BoBD at B&N yesterday as well. What do you do about the stickers on the front of SK's books from B&N?
