$150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously?????? That's insane!!! I paid a dime for this thing! I just checked on thriftbooks.com and it's listed, but out of stock. Just checked on abebooks ($150)- description is as follows: 'A Bigfoot Erotica classic'. If it's a 'classic', does that mean there are more of these types of books out there? Is there a whole genre of 'bigfoot erotica' that has been here-to-fore been unknown to us all? Who reads this stuff? =D

Heh heh hoo hoo hee heh ha ha hoo heh heh...oh man, gotta wipe the tears outta my eyes. Bigfoot Erotica! And 'classic' at that! That's my kinda stupid right there.

I'm gonna write one, maybe Molested by Nessie, all about having been fondled by the Loch Ness Monster. Maybe Chupacabra Love Child.

Oh lord, I'm dyin!

I stumbled on a great place for used books. I had some books I wanted to get rid of and I noticed a link on our library web site about donations. The link gave me the location of a used book store that took donations of books with all the proceeds from the store going to the library. The store is run by volunteers and is only open 3 hours a day on Wednesday and Friday and it's located in an industrial park. I had been planning to drop off my books there for several weeks but the 3 hour window never worked until today. I went by just to drop off my books and what I found was this gigantic used book store with an incredible selection and all the books looked to be in great shape. I picked up a couple of Michael Koryota hardcovers that look almost new. I've found a new place to go if I whenever can carve out some time on a Wednesday or Friday morning.
That sounds magical!

Today the mailman delivered an absolutely beautiful 1st printing hardback of We're All In This Together by Owen King. Paid less than $4 for it on thriftbooks.com!
I am off to Value Village to see if I can find a copy of Different Seasons for my future daughter-in-law - the wants to do a book report in her Adult Education class where she is upgrading her English credits.

She wants to do one on "The Body" and loves the movie Stand By Me.

Let me know if you find one. I have an extra hardcover BCE of Different Seasons I could send to you (along with a copy of Horns). :)

One of the best things about going to my doctor has been the little hole-in-the-wall used book store across the street. Floor to ceiling books.

I took my son to the doctor last week.....and the book store is empty.
:(

Where I live, there's only one used bookstore left. The older lady who owns it took it over from her aunt. In about five years it will be the 50th anniversary of the little store. She wants to make sure it stays open for that milestone. She barely makes it, but her husband is retired from a decent job I guess. She told me no one else in her entire family is interested in taking it over. I only recently found out about all this and plan to offer to help in some way - volunteering to distribute and pay for flyers, I don't know, just something...

That's sad to see. Although the past few years has seen a small resurgence of independent book stores, they are difficult to maintain without inventive marketing. Owners must create a sense of community and remember their customers as much as possible. Familiarity goes a long way.
In my town we are fortunate to have as many small book stores as large chains.

In this day of digital you're best bet would be to start something on Facebook. That's where most folks get in 'touch' with what's happening it seems.

Maybe I should send a conversation re Horns? :):umm:

I don't do Facebook either. I'm in the witness (witless) protection program and I don't want anyone knowing where I am.....oops, wait a minute.....nevermind.....

Long ago at a thrift or used book store I got a copy of Stephen King On Writing cheap. At a large book sale yesterday I found a copy on cassette read by the author so now I really have no excuse not to read it!
You have to listen to it. I was mesmerized by this audio and laughed out loud on a few parts. I look forward to hearing your response, especially with your love of writing and storytelling.
