Nabbed a copy of The Shining yesterday--thought it might be a first edition. When I got home and checked, it's a second. Ah well--good book anyway :) I can pass it along. I got a stack the other day, but heck if I can remember the titles, except for The Botany of Desire (Michael Pollan)--I've been looking for that one for a while! Oh, and The Edible Woman (Atwood), on a recommend from Neesy .

If the dustjacket is in good shape you could always sell it on Ebay by mentioning that the buyer could use the dj on a real 1st printing if their dj is in bad shape. I did this with one of my copies (I was the buyer) and it looks great. There's no difference in the dj's from a 1st to 2nd printing.

Wow - I recall reading that one when I was maybe 18 or 19? Now you now just how old I am!
Well not really - I read it quite a few years after it was published, but still - I am getting up in years now ;)

Over the weekend, I found an awesome antique curio cabinet that I am repurposing for a book case. Specifically, a book case for my SK book collection. It needed minimal work to get it ready and it was a great deal. I also found a huge print of a painting from 1876 and they just went perfect together. Once I figure out how to post a picture of it, I will share. It looks pretty awesome with all those decorative dust covers. I had room to put my Joe Hill and Edgar Allen Poe books in their also. It was truly a good weekend indeed.

Today I came home with a nice mass market paperback of Joyland, a 2nd printing trade paperback of the revised edition of The Gunslinger and and audio CD edition of It Grows On You which is read by Stephen King, Gary Sinise, Frank Muller and Grace Slick. Stories contained are It Grows On You, The Fifth Quarter, The Night Flier and You Know They Got A H*ll Of A Band.
