I just saw Chef with my dad. It was fun and great. One of those 'feel-good' movies. Has a well-rounded cast; Robert Downey Jr. has a funny, small bit and the actor who played the son was great. The music is really good, too! Just don't see this movie on an empty stomach. The food that was made in this movie looked delicious, haha.

Just saw The Green Mile for the first time. Blew me completely away, it was amazing (and heartbreaking). 10/10 (or thereabouts)
That's an awesome movie, one of the best movies ever. Have to rewatch it in some near future.

I have finally watched Saw 3D, the last part of the franchise. Finally, it's over for me... it's been hard watching these movies, but I'm glad I did it. What I can say about all the 7 movies. The first part is definitely worth watching for everyone who likes thrillers, there is almost no blood in it, so it is just a good thriller with a great plot. All the other parts are worth being watched in case you got interested in the story (though, for those who are afraid of blood and different disgusting things - I had to close my eyes a lot, especially when watching the last two movies, they are the most disgusting ones). What I liked most about the story is that it is continued in all the 7 movies, they did not make sequels only to continue earning money, but to tell us the story, as in every part we get to learn something more and little pieces start gathering together and everything becomes evident only in the last movie. I do not regret watching them, though I was scared and I had some bad dreams after them... But it also taught me something, I guess. There is one good message behind all that story - that we should appreciate life and not take it for granted.

Sorry for such a long post. Maybe, someone will find my review useful.

Finally, I watched Hustle & Flow. Since it's a Memphis movie, I should have watched it a long time ago. But : kids, life. I actually enjoyed it - the language was foul, but the guy was a pimp, so it worked. I give it a

The Man and I watched the first two parts of The Stand last night. I remember really disliking it the first time (I think the last time I watched it was on VHS), but it's grown on me a bit. Still some absolutely GHASTLY acting (lol), but there were good parts, too. Hope to finish it tonight (that or Say Anything-- Can't Buy Me Love got us on an 80s movie kick :D)

I just finished part 1 of The Stand also-it's been sooooo long since I watched it the first time. So far, I think the music is terrific, the casting and acting is decent (except for Molly Ringwald and Rob Lowe! :barf:) and I LOVE that SK wrote the teleplay! The parts that stray from the book are necessary due to the length of the novel. A lot of the differences are more scene condensing than actual changes (so far-I have three more parts to go). I'm sorry, but I'd take The Stand miniseries over UTD any day (except for SK's episode of course!)! =D

I've not seen any of UTD--no cable, and apparently CBS doesn't play ball with Hulu much. I can't understand the deal with the Nadine/Lucy mashup. Maybe it was to avoid having to deal with the suicide of Larry's first woman?

I'm not that far into it, but your guess sounds logical if the first woman (can't remember her name! Rita?) was eliminated from the teleplay. Three major love interests might've been too much for a four-part miniseries! ;-D

A friend of mine loaned me the DVD of this remake of "Maniac" with Elijah Wood in it. It's not for the squeamish, pretty brutal violence against women so if your in any way the kind of person who gets "Offended" by movies you should steer clear of it. But as for the movie itself, it's very well made. They did the whole film shot through the eyes of the killer, so when he's killing somebody your seeing it from the first person perspective, the only times you really even see Elijah Wood is when you catch his reflection in the mirror or in a picture frame outside of a couple scenes, his performance is primarily voice over work.

Many horror flicks will claim to be "Disturbing" or "Shocking" but most are just rehashed and overplayed genre staples. The method they shot this in makes it unique, so if your a fan of Slasher flicks or Psychological horror this will probably be something you should check out, as it stands out from the pack. One of the only remakes I think is way better then the original.
