Turning 44 this weekend. All i could think was that in 6 years i will be 50...
I feel 30-ish so 50 seems very far away...
I think I edited it (fixed your quote coding) before you wrote this, but just to show that I am more and more fitting into the theme of this thread... I fell asleep at my laptop not too long after editing the post!Damn. Fell asleep while editing my last post...
I'm a little mentally exhausted after only my fourth day in an 18 day Cert II in Security Operations.
Definately a sign of how a mere half century has wreaked havoc on both body and mind.
Anyhoo... my apologies, to all and sunder, for my brain farts during the composition of my first and previous posts. They clearly require a decent sub-editor.
As alluded to in my previous post, walking & standing-for even short periods-is an old and unwanted experience in pain on a daily basis.
I may whine about how it SUXXORZ to be me, but the reality is that I'm eternally thankful for this battle-scarred body. Few people get to experience the same bredth of wonder and awe that I have.
I thank you all for being amiable toward me and count you all as blessed friends.
I'll bet if it had been a rugbygame on you wouldn't have fallen asleep!!I think I edited it (fixed your quote coding) before you wrote this, but just to show that I am more and more fitting into the theme of this thread... I fell asleep at my laptop not too long after editing the post!

School days -- being there for history in the making! Remember the flags well. Here too, and I remember in St. Cabrini's, Springfield, IL, the nuns bringing in a 49-state flag because of Alaska and then a relatively short time later a 50-state flag because of Hawaii. I remember expecting a 51-state flag to show up soon. It seemed like a routine.
48 states, no zip codes, party lines on telephones if you lived in more rural areas, you had to pay extra to have phone extension lines, teachers told us we would soon have to be learning the metric system as the country would be converting to metric--and probably more I'm not thinking of at the moment back in the day when I was growing up.
Cant they make Puerto Rico its own state? Which state does it belong to now? Here too, and I remember in St. Cabrini's, Springfield, IL, the nuns bringing in a 49-state flag because of Alaska and then a relatively short time later a 50-state flag because of Hawaii. Puerto Rico is a US commonwealth. In June of this year, Puerto Ricans voted to become the 51st state but that will also require approval from Congress before attaining statehood.Cant they make Puerto Rico its own state? Which state does it belong to now?
