Before I take off for the weekend, I just wanted to tell everyone how very much we both appreciate all the well wishes you've all given us over the last few months. Not one of them is taken for granted, just like I don't take Tamara or any of you for granted. All of you are such wonderful friends, all part of such a wonderful place here on the SKMB and I wish all of you could be there as I start this new chapter in my life. I'll be thinking about all of you, how much you mean to me, how supportive you've all been as I've tried to pick up the pieces and start over, and how nice it is to be able to come here and talk about our favorite author's books, our lives, our hopes, our dreams, our problems, our jokes, or just give a kind word to someone who's having a bad day. Little things like that have meant so much to me over the last few years and I do and always will appreciate everyone's well wishes during the time I've been with Tamara. So, in closing, thank you to everyone here at the SKMB for everything, we have a special place here made up of people who share a very special common bond. We have the best selling author of ours or any other generation who thinks enough of his fans to keep this site up and running. We have Ms. Mod and her motley band;;D of moderators that do a wonderful job of keeping the SKMB the best place to palaver and I say thank you to all of them for all their hard work.
I hope everyone has a good weekend, I'm off to set up chairs, tables, go get my tux, and do any additional bidding my beautiful bride to be deems necessary for our day to go smoothly. Thanks again to everyone here for everything. I'll check in with everyone on Monday and hopefully have some pics to post if I can edit my homely arse out of them by then...lol
Everyone have a good weekend. Shannon.
...much love to you both, and we share in your happiness....thanks for bringing us along for the ride my friend....

If that's the case, I wonder what the women in my family did with it!

Well - I hope they rinsed with mouthwash afterwards!

We've been so busy taking things down and getting clean up done out at Tamara's dad's house the last few days I haven't had any chance at all to do much else. I'm a married man again and couldn't be happier about it. Getting everything set up was exhausting, hectic, frustrating, and crazy but it all came together and we had a wonderful wedding. Tamara looked absolutely gorgeous and I ended up wearing my tux around all night because I'll be damned if I was going to pay that much money and not get some mileage out of it...lol

There were so many people from the police department there, almost everyone I invited and they were all so cool to have at my wedding. It was like I never left. One of the guys from CID handed me an envelope on the sly before the wedding and told me to open it later, turned out there was a card signed by everyone in CID and over $250.00 in cash from everyone. I almost broke down when I saw the well wishes on the card. That I've been gone from CID for over 5 years now didn't seem to matter much to everyone. It was funny watching the police officers arrive, everyone wearing shades and looking so serious while they tried to blend in with everyone...lol My ushers, two of my favorite guys in the world, Sgt. Stout and Detective Oswalt were amazing all day long, taking care of anything and everything that I needed help with, even arriving early to help with set up. Both of them didn't leave my side all night long along with my best man and I felt like I had an escort all night long as far as if I needed anything done, they were there. My old cubicle buddy, Travis, now a mayor, even showed up, both of us remarked how we both looked older and then we preceded to make fun of one another the rest of the night. We had several people compliment both Tamara and I on our vows and even Bill, Tamara's dad who officiated the event, choked up a bit after I read mine to her. He did a wonderful job officiating the ceremony and the setting out in the country couldn't have been any better. The sunset was beautiful. It got a little cold out there on the mountain as the sun went down so a lot of people, especially the ones with children didn't stay too long after the reception but I don't blame them, it did get pretty cool. My two ushers were the last two to leave after making sure everyone had gotten to their vehicles and left. I let both of them go without helping to clean up, they earned a respite from that...lol. My son, Daniel, was absolutely amazing all this last week, helping us take load after load of wedding set up items out to Bill's house after he got home from school. The day of the wedding, he didn't leave my side, helping me set up chairs, tables, running a thousand errands for Tamara, me, Bill and Mary, or whoever needed anything done. All through the day he kept a wonderful attitude and everyone one in the wedding agreed that he was the star of the day as far as workers go. The kid was so tired by 9pm that he was swaying on his feet but never complained once. I asked my mom to take him to her house when she left and let him crash. He protested at first, but didn't put up much of a fight by then, he was completely exhausted as we all were. My mom called me later and said he was asleep by the time they got back to the main road. Anyway, I'll include a link to our FB post about the wedding if anyone is interested, I think I'm allowed to do that DJ? If not, delete the link if you need to, I wasn't sure if that was allowed. Here are some pics, pay no attention to the idiot in the monkey suit, but Tamara, the guys standing beside me, and my son were the real stars of the day.

Thanks for sharing these! Beautiful bride and handsome groom and sounds like a good time was had by all. Wishing you many, many years of happiness ahead! :biglove:

The Facebook link is fine. :smile2:
Oh, ok, thanks Ms. Mod, I forgot what time it was, thought DJ was on duty..lol, sorry about that. I'm really tired this week....I mean bushed completely. I do not have the energy at 45 years old that I did when I did this the first time at 22...lol and thank you so much for the well wishes, from both of us.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful wedding with us! Tamara is gorgeous! Oh so happy all went well! Tamara’s Dad looks familiar. Did he used to play in a band called ZZ Top?
Lol, he is an intimidating looking guy with very intense eyes but he’s been wonderful all throughout our relationship and did a great job using his 4 wheeled odyssey type vehicle to help move things around all day. It was funny, after I finished my vows he looked at Tamara and said “Well, good luck topping those Tammy.” It cracked everyone up, then she proceeded to do just that. Her vows were amazing and wonderful.
