Tearful happiness for you and the Mrs. Thank you for sharing with us. I send love and green lights for your future together!!

Oh, ok, thanks Ms. Mod, I forgot what time it was, thought DJ was on duty..lol, sorry about that. I'm really tired this week....I mean bushed completely. I do not have the energy at 45 years old that I did when I did this the first time at 22...lol and thank you so much for the well wishes, from both of us.

Yup - I teared up a little bit too, reading your description of everything - wishing you much happiness. Now - take a break and get some rest!

We've been so busy taking things down and getting clean up done out at Tamara's dad's house the last few days I haven't had any chance at all to do much else. I'm a married man again and couldn't be happier about it. Getting everything set up was exhausting, hectic, frustrating, and crazy but it all came together and we had a wonderful wedding. Tamara looked absolutely gorgeous and I ended up wearing my tux around all night because I'll be damned if I was going to pay that much money and not get some mileage out of it...lol

There were so many people from the police department there, almost everyone I invited and they were all so cool to have at my wedding. It was like I never left. One of the guys from CID handed me an envelope on the sly before the wedding and told me to open it later, turned out there was a card signed by everyone in CID and over $250.00 in cash from everyone. I almost broke down when I saw the well wishes on the card. That I've been gone from CID for over 5 years now didn't seem to matter much to everyone. It was funny watching the police officers arrive, everyone wearing shades and looking so serious while they tried to blend in with everyone...lol My ushers, two of my favorite guys in the world, Sgt. Stout and Detective Oswalt were amazing all day long, taking care of anything and everything that I needed help with, even arriving early to help with set up. Both of them didn't leave my side all night long along with my best man and I felt like I had an escort all night long as far as if I needed anything done, they were there. My old cubicle buddy, Travis, now a mayor, even showed up, both of us remarked how we both looked older and then we preceded to make fun of one another the rest of the night. We had several people compliment both Tamara and I on our vows and even Bill, Tamara's dad who officiated the event, choked up a bit after I read mine to her. He did a wonderful job officiating the ceremony and the setting out in the country couldn't have been any better. The sunset was beautiful. It got a little cold out there on the mountain as the sun went down so a lot of people, especially the ones with children didn't stay too long after the reception but I don't blame them, it did get pretty cool. My two ushers were the last two to leave after making sure everyone had gotten to their vehicles and left. I let both of them go without helping to clean up, they earned a respite from that...lol. My son, Daniel, was absolutely amazing all this last week, helping us take load after load of wedding set up items out to Bill's house after he got home from school. The day of the wedding, he didn't leave my side, helping me set up chairs, tables, running a thousand errands for Tamara, me, Bill and Mary, or whoever needed anything done. All through the day he kept a wonderful attitude and everyone one in the wedding agreed that he was the star of the day as far as workers go. The kid was so tired by 9pm that he was swaying on his feet but never complained once. I asked my mom to take him to her house when she left and let him crash. He protested at first, but didn't put up much of a fight by then, he was completely exhausted as we all were. My mom called me later and said he was asleep by the time they got back to the main road. Anyway, I'll include a link to our FB post about the wedding if anyone is interested, I think I'm allowed to do that DJ? If not, delete the link if you need to, I wasn't sure if that was allowed. Here are some pics, pay no attention to the idiot in the monkey suit, but Tamara, the guys standing beside me, and my son were the real stars of the day.

THANKS Neesy! It was a good weekend. A bit surreal once everything got going and I started to get a little nervous but, this sounds weird, but the more PD people that showed up the better I was able to handle everything. We all have such history together that seeing each one of them pull in was like coming home to dearly loved...somewhat deranged family members...lol. Within 5 minutes of each person I introduced to my current supervisors, they were already telling stories and regaling everyone with stories of how I have a girl's name and all sorts of embarrassing things that I did while working there. As the night went on, Tamara and I ended up sitting with a bunch of people from the police department and we had such a good time just listening to everyone. Tamara had a million questions for all of them about me and there was no shortage of embarrassing stories I had to explain, each making everyone crack up. I've been gone several years and I still get no quarter from any of them, but it was all worth it. It was an exhausting night but I wouldn't have traded anything.

Strangely enough, that cake still hasn't been touched. Thinking about trying it tonight. We FINALLY got everything back to the house this evening. We have enough wedding junk to stock a small gift store...lol

Still time, ghost.......still............................................................oh wait!!!!!!!:D
Yep, missed my window. Bill cracked everyone up, in the middle of the ceremony, he added in "Now, at this time, if the groom would like to bail, that road to the left leads straight into the woods." Everyone had a good laugh. He made the ceremony go so much smoother by adding some humor to the event.

What is this about a House Divided cake? Did I miss something?

Congratulations to you both! Beautiful pics!

P.S. Did her dad like his knife? Did you include the coin??

P.S.S. Much love and happiness to you guys!:love_heart:

He loved the knife. I saw him showing it off to several people during the wedding after the ceremony. He told me he's going to replace his Western knife he carries in his saddlebags on his motorcycle with the one I gave him. Tamara was astounded and said he's been carrying the same knife for as long as she can remember in his saddlebags. We did include a penny inside the knife case. When Tamara told him about the tradition he laughed and handed the penny to me as payment.
