For my dear friend and his good lady, on a more personal level, I would make a quilt, and I would have The Green Fairy quilt lady quilt it. For those interested, check out her site. She quilts the most amazing, intricate designs I have ever seen. Just craftsmanship and artistry on a whole other level.

I would have this sent to them weekly just for fun -- not a beet in site.

And I would send them here:

I wish you the love of a good woman, because she has the love of a good man. You two are a team.
LMAO....I LOVE the blue apron beet-less meals...lol.
Thank you my friend, thank you so much, these are perfect. Couldn't have asked for any better gifts.

Thank you all so much for the good tidings about our upcoming wedding, it means a lot. You'll are all such good friends and I very much appreciate every one of you. I'll be thinking about everyone when I get married. This place has been and continues to be such a safe harbor, and it's a privilege I don't take for granted. Posting here always reminds me of a bunch of good friends sitting around a camp fire somewhere in the outer realm of Gilead, Roland's level of the tower, do ya ken? Everyone enjoying palaver, each contributing her/his own stories, own experiences, own points of view, to the collective conversation. At this camp fire I see poets, bards, jesters, scribes, scholars, and maybe even a couple of old grizzled gunslingers, taking a few minutes every once in a while to walk the perimeter, have a smoke, and check the horizon as they talk about battles won, battles lost, then returning to the fire once more to take part in the festivities. Thank you all for being a wonderful group of people, your kind words are always appreciated, then, now, and always.

I am so happy for you and your lovely bride, Ghost! Your story is so inspiring, and you deserve nothing but the best in your new chapter of life. Wow, the wedding date snuck up fast. Happiness and blessings to you and Tamara!
Yes ma'am, it did sneak up in a hurry. I had posted earlier that we woke up yesterday and it was March 1st.....then it hit home I think for real. We've both been thru the ringer in the last couple of years, both arrived where we are from widely different paths and that fact isn't lost on either of us because we know what we have is a good thing. The most important thing to both of us is that we make each other feel safe, something neither of us has had for a long time, and that's really all that matters. It's hard to explain when you don't feel safe around your spouse, everything becomes strange, difficult, and eerie, like it's happening to another person. I watch Tamara's eyes light up when she sees my holding her son, or just playing with him. I think that has more of an effect on her than anything. She sees him trust me, I see her talking to my son and helping him with things that a 13 year old needs a mother around to help out with. We're both able to step back, take a breath, and know that we're all safe in a better environment than we both came from and that we're trying really hard to make sure everyone feels included and loved. I had that once, lost it, didn't realize how much I missed it until I met Tamara. I've learned a great deal from what's happened over the last five years and although what happened was mostly out of my control, I'm being very careful to make sure Tamara knows how much I appreciate her every day because I know what loss feels like and I want her to know how much she means to me every day.

What a fantastic idea do1you9love? - you're the sweetest most thoughtful gal!!

ghost19 I'm so happy for you both - your posts about what you've been through and what you've found in Tamara are so touching and heartfelt! (has she read them??)

I wish you both the best and happiest of times and the strongest of bonds for the worst of times. Marriage is such a thrill ride (and I always say - best get that first marriage out of the way early!)

From us to y'all:

Thank you so much Holly. A lot of what I've said here about Tamara I've worked into my vows. Both of us ended up with rather long vows. We haven't read them to each other but both of us had about 4 pages typed out when it was all said and done. I think we have a lot to say to one another. We've both been thru a lot and we've helped each other heal quite a bit. I think we'd both agree that knowing each other for so long has really made the journey a lot more enjoyable and made all the adjustments a little easier. Thanks again Holly.
