I don't drink alcohol in the morning, and yet I find myself unaccountably needing to weigh in on the Great Radio Debate.

So here we go:

To radio stations everywhere: If you want to take a song, any song, off your playlist, just do it. Don't explain it. Don't justify it. It's your playlist. You can do with it what you want.

I assure you that in your patch of listeners occasionally tuning in to your 3,000-song rotation, they are not going to say, "Hey! Why isn't THAT one being played?"

And ESPECIALLY don't give a reason if your decision was made on some social basis. Then you won't have to worry about easily offending people who are easily offended by those who are easily offended.

So there you have it. I hope I haven't offended anyone.

From another standpoint:

I'm just not buying in to the demonizing of a clever, cute song. Jeez. Gimme a break. Just enjoy it.

I'll just note that if my daughter or a granddaughter comes to me and says that you were trying to get her drunk, put something in her drink that she didn't ask for, or that when she said stop it, you were being pushy, and you described it as "opportunistic," you and I are going to have a talk that will not be full of comfort and joy.

Carry on with the music.

Hope you're not offending any people who identify as pans!

Some other gems from the report:

Say bring home the bagels instead of bacon.
Feed two birds with one scone instead of kill two birds with one stone.

Much better.
I've always wondered about that expression "There's more than one way to skin a cat" :icon_eek:

See? We must stop this madness. Songs, shows, movies, jokes --

Choices. We all makes choices. Walk away and be offended to your heart's content. Let the rest of us listen for something else in the message. I will choose for myself, thank you.
It comes down to what people have always said...

The "10 percenters" rule the world...

Now that doesn't mean wealth...

It's the 10 percent that are offended by something that the other 90 percent finds nothing wrong with...

Those people are loud...

I know because I am among the 10 percent whose ears do not lie down next to my head so I hear them better...
