Dana Jean ! Dana Jean ! Dana Jean ! Look at this! Your dyed tiles technique can be used on washers :) Look at the image on the bottom right - with just one scroll thingy, the washers would make great dangle earrings :)

I was going to look at ONE thing on Pinterest - a cute wire angel - but I fell into the "related pins" vortex a couple hours ago and just now found my way out lol

Oooohhhh, love this. Have a lot of alcohol inks I can use to try this out with the wire wrapping--sometime. Still up to my neck in sewing projects that are in various stages of completion.

What kind of sewing projects?
Quilting, pillows, and took a class to figure out how to use the serger I bought last fall so making clothes now. Has been a lot of years since I've done any serious garment sewing. By the time you buy the pattern and fabric, it's often cheaper to just buy them off the rack but got patterns and fabric on sale.

I used to make most of my own clothing when I worked. I mostly just made simple gored skirts... I have a closet full of gored skirts lol.

I just realized I stopped sewing clothing as much when my girls grew up. Always made them fancy dresses for the father-daughter dances and Easter and Christmas holidays. The serger will open up new possibilities for casual clothing.

My sewing machine is so old it has a zig zag attachment (which does not work well on knits or light-weight fabrics). I like raglan sleeve baseball tees and made a couple but you really need a serger to make them properly. Have fun with your serger! :)

Oh! Great idea! Metal stamping the washers would make them unique :)

I just called hubby to see if he had any aluminum washers. He's going to try to find me some :) I'm guessing washers used for earrings need to be lightweight. Can ink dyes be used on any metal surface?

Found this link with lots of advice about using alcohol inks on metal and stamping them (first).

Been a long while since I posted in this thread. Aside from Spring break vacation I have been busy with work, reading, listening to audio books and my own writing. So basically just life in general.

But today I finally got the remaining materials I need to finish all of the slipcases I had planned on making. So I hope to get some new slipcases done tomorrow!
