I think that's the whole idea of this season = sharing - spread the joy!I gave half of it to my Mom to share with her friends. I'll share my half with some friends at the coffee shop on Wednesday. No way Munchkin and I can (or should) eat an entire cake!
Did some light exterior Christmas decorating at SwiftMom's house. You can't see the side porch but that has candy cane rope lights on it.
The magic of the season is displayed!! Nice job.
I hate fruitcake, but that looks totally yummy and beautiful, Sunny. Good job!So, this year I decided to bake my Grandma's Pecan Cake recipe. It's a type of fruitcake, but only has candied cherries, candied pineapple, and a pound of chopped pecans. Grandma's Pecan Cake was the only fruitcake I have ever liked. This is the result of my first attempt. Gotta admit, I'm kinda proud of how it turned out.
......and just ignore that missing slice in the back. I had to sample a sliver.......you know, to make sure it was done

I hate fruitcake too......except for this one. It's actually got some cake to it, and isn't all gummy like the store bought ones.....and none of that gawdawful citron junk.
I would eat this. It really looks good and nothing like those store things.

I laughed so hard over this because this was a wonderful childhood memory when our whole school went to the theater to see it. It is one of my favorite little movies and although different from the book, still my favorite Wonka visual.
The song the mother is singing to Charlie while all the action is happening is from the film and I used to sing this to my kids before bed. Actually, I did a medley of songs for them. And looking back, they were all sort of sad mofo songs!
