Hey Dana Jean, this article says that people who decorate early for Christmas are happier.

People who put up Christmas decorations early are happier, according to experts
It does make me very happy. And, Christmas time reminds me of my childhood, yes. This has strong family memories that are wonderful and this is the time of the year I think about my dad the most. Boy! He was such a big kid and he was always so silly and happy. I love my dad and this celebrates him more than anything really. Just great silly xmas memories.

awww. My dad was a great guy. Wicked smart and wicked funny and the biggest damn kid at xmas. More so than my brother sister and I. And mom would have to rein him in, calm him down. He was always trying to get us to open our presents and mom would have to come in and scold him!!!

And my dad loved to xmas shop, but, he wasn't wildly creative about it. bwhahhahahaa! The first person to open up one of his gifts knew exactly what everyone was getting. If my brother opened a watch, we all had watches! If mom got perfume, we all got a perfume or cologne. (I was about 8 and he got me big girl perfume, Wind Song, not some stupid little girl crap. I felt very special.) . I opened a Bobby Sherman album, everyone had an album. Robe? everyone a robe.

We would come home and catch him wearing an item that was supposed to be wrapped and under the tree. He would put on his christmas albums and sing and try to get us all to dance with him.

I miss my people.

LOL. The wife says I’m brain damaged because I watch Hallmark Christmas movies. I tell her if she likes I'll switch over to a Forged In Fire rerun. Her usual response is to tell me to go to another room.

If Hallmark could find some way to make a Christmas movie and incorporate Forged In Fire into the plot my life would be complete. :)

Recently widowed, Danielle Morgan has been struggling to move on after the untimely death of her husband, Derrick. This will be her first Christmas without him and she wants to commemorate the holiday with a wrought iron tree yard ornament that will forever represent the essence of his personality, a kid at heart who loved decorating their Christmas tree. Enter Joe Revere, local blacksmith and craftsman. Will the sparks that fly lead to more than a casual acquaintance? Watch Forged in Holiday Fire to find out!

You are one evil woman teasing me with that story line. Submit it to Hallmark… I’d surely watch. :)

I’d cast Marisa Tomei as Danielle Morgan and David Baker as Joe Revere. :)

Sounds like you gals have been in the spirits!! No Christmas until after Turkey Day. So shall it be written so shall it be done!!!!
:applause:
Never too early-- the spirit is with us all year long! Just stronger this time of year!!

I am not a fan of Winter; I don't like the cold.
Every year's a little worse because I'm getting old.
I'm not looking forward to the snow 'cause I don't ski.
Freezing rain is even worse, according to my knee.

This year poses greater threats than strong Nor'easter gales...
On November 1st stores started having Christmas sales!
Pumpkins carved for Halloween, still fresh on my front stairs,
Buried under flyers advertising Christmas wares.

Can't we wait at least until Thanksgiving? Pretty please?
Hold off on the caroling and decorating trees,
Christmas movies, TV ads... I'm begging you to wait;
Just a couple weeks without that pressure would be great.
