My Siamese cat, Bailey, caught a wee moose in my hoose.

I went to the gym - he's been spending a lot of time near me lately. Maybe he was bored when I left? Anyway - when I got back he had the prize mouse close to the front door. It was dead - completely dead; not moving a muscle or breathing even a little bit.

Picked it up by the tail and flushed it down the loo.

Made sure I washed my hands [don't want Hantavirus]

He must have had a ball while I was gone - probably chased it and played with it until it finally expired.

While this may not be all that cool and amazing - he was just being a cat - it made me appreciate him more.

By the way, this is not Bailey - Bailey is a chocolate point Siamese.

Siamese

Thai royalty spent many generations in the company of Siamese cats. In fact, when members of royal families passed away, their cat would take up residence in whichever temple their remains were interred in, and lived there in comfort and luxury among monks and members of the priesthood. Siamese cats were eventually bred to form the Burmese, Himalayan and Ocicat breeds, but the original Siamese is still a favorite mouser and ratter on multiple hemispheres.

Pele is making her presence known on the Big Island in more ways than one...

She is standing with upraised arms, wearing a 'pau. Her head is down and she is turned away. She's busy ;)

Yeah, yeah. I know our brains see patterns and all but this just made my breath catch when I saw it. The Hawaiians know that Pele owns the island. They just camp out on it.
