Correct me if I’m wrong, but the website of an author who described several people being devoured by an alien that has disguised itself as an old station wagon at a rest stop… A young couple crushed in their cellar under a mass of sharp-toothed toads… An alien microvirus that grows worm-like aliens in humans, eventually expelling themselves through the anus and killing the host… A man killed by a demonic cat… A creature that attacks a boy as a swarm of flying leeches and sucking him dry before moving onto its next victim… A man being torn in half by a giant crab claw, and a flock of sparrows ripping a guy’s skin from his bones, can’t bare to watch the simple natural function of a plant? :)

Carnivorous plants are frickin’ scary, they have no mind, no souls, yet they eat. It’s not even quick, especially with pitcher plants. I’m glad I’m not an insect.

Common misconception about them though, they don’t need to eat because the cant perform photosynthesis, they still perform photosynthesis like any other plant, they just do it because they grow in places where they don’t get enough carbon to perform photosynthesis and in turn cellular respiration.

I wonder how they evolved, what did their primitive ancestors look like, I don’t think I’d want to see it though.

Poor flies, they’re quick to evade a hand but aren’t intelligent enough to learn to avoid the hair triggers. But since both hair triggers need to be touched to be activated, a cautious fly can step on one and drink the sweet nectar from inside just fine.
You have to wonder why a flytrap will close up on a fly but ignore a insect it considers to be a pollinator.
