Leland Gaunt displayed a level of sweetness, too.Hopeful, Dio? Don't you be going all wimpy on me?
Who WOULD? Mr. King’s books are for rubberneckers, not for settlers. If I want to settle in a writer’s books, I’d pick Clifford D. Simak’s shorter fiction, these 4 stories in particular: The Big Front Yard, Desertion, Immigrant, and New Folks’ Home.Even Steve himself said recently: I never wan't to live in one of my books.
I agree completely and hopefully they'll start producing tests in numbers that would make it feasible to do that. We're learning on nearly a daily basis that the risks for infection and how it is transmitted are not what they first thought. It's looking like finding out you are positive even before you are symptomatic could help tremendously in preventing, or at least minimizing, the chance of a super-spreading event especially in places that have not already put stay at home mandates in effect.I want everyone to be tested for COVID-19 because there are at least 2 good reasons for it:
(1) Some of us may be asymptomatic carriers. This can put others at risk. It could also be of use to those studying this coronavirus.
(2) Some of us may have already had this coronavirus, with symptoms so mild that they may have been unaware of it. In that case, there may be antibodies in their blood that could be used to inoculate others against the disease as well as to assist those working on a vaccine.
For both those reasons, I believe EVERYONE should be tested. ASAP.
Randall Flagg seemed like a cool biker guy as well.Leland Gaunt displayed a level of sweetness, too.
That we’re learning about this virus in particular and about Science in general are two of the shiniest silver linings imaginable. That’s some of what gets me so excited these days. I want to help compile a COVID-19 Silver Linings Playbook.I agree completely and hopefully they'll start producing tests in numbers that would make it feasible to do that. Flagg wasn't like a biker, kiddo.Randall Flagg seemed like a cool biker guy as well.
...Or Harold Lauder.Flagg wasn't like a biker, kiddo.
He's "The Walkin' Dude",
He wears cowboy boots and a denim truckers jacket.
Not a leather jacket and motorcycle boots.
THAT would be Negan.
Yep....Or Harold Lauder.
Nah, Jamey Sheridan is definately a biker dude.Flagg wasn't like a biker, kiddo.

In Dallas we have had two major locations set up testing, both are outdoors and are tent set ups.I want everyone to be tested for COVID-19 because there are at least 2 good reasons for it:

........drink your coffee, bub.Nah, Jamey Sheridan is definately a biker dude.
Appointments. It's a thing. In Dallas we have had two major locations set up testing, both are outdoors and are tent set ups.
They're there for those who have actual symptoms.
I think it would be impractical for everyone to be tested.
Think about the throngs of people gathering together at places like that, or outside clinics or hospitals.
Those who really have the virus or are carriers would spread it too the healthy like wildfire.
thinking future "planning" -- at home tests mailed out. Sent back just like some home screening tests. If a Census can be mailed to each address, so could a test kit.Appointments. It's a thing.
The possible other downside, though, is that you could be tested negative but if you're not truly practicing social distancing, you could get infected later so how many times do you test? Until you get it? Until the curve has truly flattened out? Would people get a false sense of security after stay in place measures have been lifted? Lots of unknowns right now but benefits of testing are there.
Let's be real. Every place that isn't testing everyone is not reporting actual numbers. The experts know that. I'm not saying that China hasn't been intentionally misrepresenting it as that's their usual MO about everything and we all know that. But if what we're really worried about is how widespread it is, no one really knows because there are so many people out there who are positive but haven't, and may never, be tested to confirm. Or for that matter, who may have died as a result of COVID but that didn't get reported and cause of death was attributed to something else because the medial personnel weren't looking/testing for it.Well, they are at it again everyone.
China Concealed Extent of Virus Outbreak, U.S. Intelligence Says
China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country, under-reporting both total cases and deaths it’s suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials.www.bloomberg.com
As many have said already. One of the biggest issues which makes this virus unmanageable is the fact that you can be infected for the initial period, but not have the symptoms, but still infect others. So for the initial infection period you can spread the virus without even knowing you have it.Appointments. It's a thing.

All great points.thinking future "planning" -- at home tests mailed out. Sent back just like some home screening tests. If a Census can be mailed to each address, so could a test kit.
Agree about negative at time of test, and then possibility of getting infected and becoming a positive. Also false negatives.
Exactly. That's why I'm in the camp of having everyone tested. As many have said already.
