GNTLGNT ? Scott, you wanna take this one?

(he works in a prison)
.....all state institutions have closed to outside visitors here in Ohio, accommodations are being made to allow the Inmates more phone and tablet usage to see their families or friends, or at least hear their voices....cleaning details have ramped up to warp speed and our community workers have been pulled out of service and put to work within the wire....all employees are being screened daily as we report for work, Inmates are being screened constantly-especially those that are leaving for or returning from court hearings/medical trips....we are even screening those leaving to go home at the end of their sentences....it is a real possibility that I and other employees could end up quarantined....my institution is in a very rural setting which slows issues that affect those in more metropolitan areas.....we have nearly 2,500 inmates scattered through 5 dorms, and that's 250 to a floor....hygiene is never a priority for most, so we've even had to teach some how to wash their damn hands....viruses are always rampant in our population and now is no different.....we are doing the best we can to roll with the punches.....

....barber shops and salons all shut down in Ohio....and due to this damn virus panic, I've been laid off from the radio station....no commercials to produce, when businesses aren't open or have no money to spend, because everyone's hiding....this one hurts, been doing it 41 years-just hope they'll have me back when things finally improve....if not, it's been one hell of a run.....

Forgot to add above that some recipes swap out vodka for the rubbing alcohol as that might not be available in some stores now as people are having to make their own due to the run on commercial hand sanitizers.
I'll be sure to mention that I'm making sanitizer when I'm at the register with 12 bottles of vodka. :p;):p

That sucks. As awful as your main job can be, at least I think that one is secure.

I hope you get your radio job back when things calm down.

Oh man so sorry to hear that, you'll be back at it when this madness has subsided, businesses will reopen and they'll need you to get back in the saddle. We had a site meeting here yesterday and the boss said that he expects a lockdown pretty soon and when it happens we're all going to be laid off, he said our jobs are there waiting for us when things calm down. It's a storm that's fu*king everything up but the storms gotta end sometime.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your jobs, it's just awful.

My boss came in to our work place today and told us that many of the services we provide will be shutting down for the time being. I work with people with disabilities in a vocational setting. Some of our clients are in residential care and for now we're trying to limit bringing too many different people into their homes.
For myself nothing is changing short term, as myself and one other carer work mainly with just one client everyday. As they live in their own family home, we're still able to provide care without too much risk of bringing in too many different people/and potential germs.
The people we care for most often have complicated health issues putting them at a higher risk. Several vocational hubs within our services are being shut-down as of 4:00 pm tomorrow and will not re-open until things settle down. So far everybody will be still be paid and some people will be redistributed throughout the services, but they will not be able to work with several different clients in differing homes.
We've been told that if we need to quarantine, we'll still be paid without needing to use up our sick pay.

Our government has put billions into supporting businesses to try and retain staff, bolster the health sector and basically put cash into the hands of those needing it. Banks have offered 'bank holidays' on paying mortgages... and tonight we've apparently completely shut our borders to all non-citizens.

In such a short space of time, the world that we know has become quite a bizarre place to be in.

I trust you're all staying safe and healthy, fellow CR's. Our nice new library can't open for at least another couple of weeks, possibly longer depending on how things fall. We are still working, and I guess the silver lining is that we're using the extra time to prepare for patron traffic.

See, if you try you can always find a sunny side to any situation! ;)

Stay safe. Sounds like your government has a plan in place and cares about it's working citizens. Be well.
