Kurben, I just searched the Swedish Prime Minister, to continue my running theme of what subjects of teaching world leaders seem like they would be suited for, I think your Prime Minister would be some kind of Headteacher. In that sense yes but what i meant was that there was no talk of other parties, that, btw, are keeping a rather low profile since they seem to agree that we must go through this together and think it would be in very poor taste to make national politics of a pandemic. But of course yourr correct in so far as a politician everything he says and does has an impact on his standing.
Your'e preaching to the choir. I and my own practice as much social distancing as we can at the moment. We all can control what we personally do but we can't control what others do.The best way to maintain those things is to not have more people getting sick by containing it. In other words, sacrifice now and stop going out as much as possible so you won't be accidentally infecting others and we'll get through it sooner than later.
It just makes you think, what will happen in the future? Will there be another virus? Something worse? This whole situation has made something obvious though, plans for these situations dont usually translate into practicality. If we survived the plague i think we can survive this. Sure the economy will take a hit and will need time to recover but better that than to risk god knows how many lives by not caring. Economy can recuperate with time. A dead human can not.

Before he became a fulltime politician he was an unionleader and before that a welder.Kurben, I just searched the Swedish Prime Minister, to continue my running theme of what subjects of teaching world leaders seem like they would be suited for, I think your Prime Minister would be some kind of Headteacher.
Huh, I like him already. Before he became a fulltime politician he was an unionleader and before that a welder.

Yes? but we survived. And this isn't nearly as bad as the plague and we are better in understanding illnesses and in containing them then in 1348.One out of every three died of the plague.
.....but we can be a positively reinforcing influence on others without ramming it down anyone's throats.Your'e preaching to the choir. I and my own practice as much social distancing as we can at the moment. We all can control what we personally do but we can't control what others do.
Me and mine are not going to be taken out,This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but with a whimper.
For some reason he always seems to be at his best in crisis. Last time was when there was a terrorist attack in central Stockholm. A lorry ran down a lot of people in a crowded street, a walking street, no cars allowed. Usually, when everything is at its normal, he appears a bit dull, colourless and never make a quick decision. But in crisis he appears confident and trustworthy for some reason. Strange.Huh ... I like him already.
You learn who people truly are in a crisis. For some reason he always seems to be at his best in crisis. Last time was when there was a terrorist attack in central Stockholm. Yes, mankind would survive, but the sad fact is the more humans that die the easier it becomes for the remainder of mankind to survive due to food and energy shortages. This virus is nothing compared to what will eventually come down the road in the future.Yes? but we survived. And this isn't nearly as bad as the plague and we are better in understanding illnesses and in containing them then in 1348.
That wouldn't have to happen if there weren't people, pundits, and politicians who are in the public minimizing and/or downplaying it to the point that it's giving a false sense of security......but we can be a positively reinforcing influence on others without ramming it down anyone's throats.
On the brighter side of things, we have running water and electricity.
(The situation could be so much harder.)
And everywhere steps are being taken, and countries are being proactive and doing what is necessary to stop the spread.
.....so much....so many issues, under scrutiny and discussion.
One thing at a time.
Tackle it, fix it conquer it,
And move to the next most important thing.
True, there might very well come along something worse in the future. But lets deal with this thing first. The sad thing about things that might happen in the future is that practically no political leader is willing to make plans that costs time and money on them. Thats the downside of how todays democracies function. You rarely think further than the next election. Making plans for 20-100 years ahead? Not my problem. Cant spend money on it. And so we will be unprepared next time too whatever it is, a virus, the zombieapocalypse or something else.Yes, mankind would survive, but the sad fact is the more humans that die the easier it becomes for the remainder of mankind to survive due to food and energy shortages. This virus is nothing compared to what will eventually come down the road in the future.
